At this year’s Connecticut Public Health Association annual meeting, Dr. Peter Ellis, PA-NH co-founder, received the Charles G. Huntington III Award, which recognizes exceptional public health leadership and dedication among Connecticut healthcare practitioners. Dr. Ellis was selected for his decades-long commitment to expanding access to care for vulnerable and underserved populations across Greater Waterbury and New Haven. His career is distinguished by the creation of community based programs that connect low income, uninsured individuals with urgently needed medical care—including his foundational roles in establishing Waterbury Project Access, the Waterbury Health Access Program, and PA-NH. He has also been deeply committed to teaching and mentoring, preparing future physicians to understand and address the complex social and medical needs of their patients. Through his clinical practice, teaching, and community leadership, Dr. Ellis has made a lasting impact on patients, trainees, and the broader public health landscape—embodying the values this award celebrates.

Congratulations Peter! 👏
