I don't watch any news, but somehow I always know about the terrors of the world as people seem very excited to bring it up in conversation.

The best thing we can do when we feel anxious about things that are out of our control, is to focus on the things we have control of and can take care of: our health and well-being.

You are probably over breathing right now.
Most people breathe too much, too fast and too shallow.
Their bodies are in a constant state of fight or flight just from how they are breathing.

Take a slow smooth breath in through your nose
Inhale 1-2-3-4
Now exhale through you mouth even slower.
Exhale 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8
Repeat.

This is just one of the many doses of breathwork in our SOMA breath pharmacy.

I wasn't able to see the red moon this morning due to clouds, but last night I took a pretty magical moonlit walk with my love. I'll be honest, it would have been perfect barefoot in the sand along the beach, but even with two layers of clothes and just my eyes showing it was a walk to remember.

I am always so thankful and proud of myself when I show up, committed and consistent in my health and lifestyle goals. Winter in Wisconsin is tough, especially in March. What makes it even harder for us is when we abandon our dreams and goals and make excuses for why it's okay.

Our bodies fall sick to illness when we are infected with a pathogen/bug, but our minds get ill too, when we allow an unhealthy thought to become a virus in our software.

Being sick in the head is normal, but it is not ok. We all have the autonomy, power and responsibility to keep our minds healthy, just like our bodies and our spirits. They are all yoked. Connected. It's the yoga science of the ancient Rishis.. Sometimes we need some coaching to regain control of our beautiful brains.

That's why I am here.

If you missed the first chakra session, Root to Elevate, yesterday, mark your calendars for the second chakra session, Creating You,

After the session, during our shared reflections, one participant said, "I haven't had any caffeine, but I feel an energized vibration inside even though I feel relaxed."

Another participant who had never done breathwork before said, "The first round of holding my breath out was stressful, I was anxious, but each time it got a little easier as I realized it was my mind that was worried, not my body."
