During Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we're reminding our community that early detection saves lives - and routine screenings are one of the most powerful ways to protect your health.

We recently connected with Dr. Levine, Medical Director of the North Memorial Health Cancer Center, to talk about why regular screenings matter and learn how mammograms and other screening tools can help catch breast cancer early when it’s most treatable.

Last week, our Nashwauk EMS team proudly joined forces with the Keewatin and Nashwauk Fire Departments, Keewatin Police Department, and the Itasca County Sheriff's Department to educate over 300 students on everything from safe charging practices for devices and the importance of smoke detectors to the dangers of smoke inhalation and how EMS, fire, and law enforcement work together on calls.

Students got hands-on experiences with trucks and gear, met first responders in full uniform, and learned not to be afraid of the heroes who come to help in emergencies. We’re honored to be part of this impactful day, helping build trust and safety awareness in our community’s youngest members!

Congratulations to these former North Memorial Health Junior Volunteers who are off to their first year of college with scholarships provided by donors to our Foundation! Each recipient has completed at least 100 hours of volunteering at one of our hospitals, giving their time and energy to help make a difference in the community and gain valuable experience before they even graduate from high school.
