What is your "why" behind being a Case Manager?
The "why" behind my work started with wanting to help and support others during varying situations that they might encounter. I never dreamt that it would lead to where I am now in my career. My "why" remains to support others through good and challenging times while also evolving to teaching, supporting, listening, being innovative, and rallying together with many interdisciplinary team members to find solutions for complex challenges. There is never a dull moment in case management, no two situations are the same. Being able to collaborate with varying individuals across the industry to help improve upon what we can currently offer is motivational and a unique opportunity that I get to do each day.

What excites you about your position?
As the manager of case management, I have the privilege to lead knowledgeable, dedicated, and compassionate RN Case Managers and Social Workers. I receive excitement in being supportive and engaged leader as I assist my team through complex situations and furthermore watch them grow in their professional career. The work we do is challenging in many ways. We are faced with varying constraints and obstacles but as we collectively collaborate to meet the needs of the individuals we interact with, that is rewarding all around.

How has being a member of ACMA supported you in your role?
The ACMA supports me in my role by providing a collaborative venue with CEU's, best practice modalities, research information, and much more. I value being involved in and supported by an association that truly appreciates the complex and rewarding work of case management. Oh, and the conferences and vendor connects are always enjoyable. 😃
