🎉 it is the end of the birthday celebrations! In the last few weeks we celebrated Carrie and Debbie’s decade birthday and Lorena’s birthday.

Thankful for the best team who helped welcome me in to my 40’s today! ❤️ not pictured here are my other amazing team members Lorena and Klayre.

In my 30’s I grew and nurtured my three girls and my practice. Built an amazing team. Created a space where I love to come to work everyday. Where I am able to touch so many people in different ways. I put my whole heart in to everything I do. ❤️

I am out of the office this week enjoying time with my family in Colorado! We lived here when I was in residency and then for a few years after. We spent this morning hiking Chautauqua in Boulder.

It’s been so amazing being back in Colorado, we haven’t been back since 2018, but it still feels like home.

I will be back in the clinic next week, but until then I’m soaking up the beauty that is Colorado, and the sweet moments with my family.

🦷 If you count the teeth here, you will see there are two additional front teeth at the end (look at the arrows). That is because this patients palate was so small there was not enough space for them to come in.

🔥With an expander and braces we were able to create space and an ideal shaped palate!

🤓Early expansion is cases like this are so amazing, it’s hard for me to even explain!

Expansion is ideally done before age 13 when the suture closes. However, some kids benefit from expansion as early as 6 or 7 years old!

I stopped by Pediatric Dentistry of Milford last week, which is stunning! I am excited for her as she begins her journey in to private practice and ownership just as I did almost five years ago.

Not every clear aligner case finishes with no issues. Every so often, we switch to braces. Sometimes the teeth don’t move the way we want, and people can burn out. Here the permanent canines were very high and resistant to move down.

This is the beauty of seeing an orthodontic specialist, we have the ability to pivot to meet the needs of our patients. My main goal is always to finish the case to perfection, and that’s what we did here! So whether we add a few braces or other auxiliaries, its about having the knowledge of orthodontic tooth movement beyond just surface level and the ability to pivot when needed.
