New Hyde Park Funeral Home

New Hyde Park Funeral Home Follow for latest arrangement information. The New Hyde Park Funeral Home has been a staple in the c Smolenski, Sr. Smolenski, Jr.

For nearly a century, the New Hyde Park Funeral Home has been providing caring support for families in their times of need. Our spacious and serene home has been a haven to many, and over the years, we've built a reputation for the quality of our services and the distinguished manner in which our funerals are conducted.

1956: Joseph R. opens New Hyde Park Funeral Home in February of 1956. At the

time, Floral Park and New Hyde Park had large Polish populations. The Smolenski name was well known, so the ethnic draw was a natural. Business started out well and picked up speed as New Hyde Park grew. In fact, at times it was necessary to take over the family home, which was attached, to allow for viewing.

2003: Joseph R. brings services to Raleigh, NC with the creation of Renaissance Funeral Home of Raleigh in November 2003.

2019: New Hyde Park Funeral Home is acquired by long-time managing funeral director, Michael P. McBride, proudly continuing the Smolenski tradition of family-owned service, compassion, and excellence in funeral care.

Receiving a lovely letter like this one is not uncommon. However, we typically receive them from the immediate family members of those in our care. This letter is from a non-family guest visiting our funeral home. It truly made our day and will continue to inspire us to provide the utmost care for the families and guests we serve and our local community.

“Dear McBride Family,

I attended a wake last week for a former neighbor and long time New Hyde Park resident - Michael Dolan.

I am constantly impressed by the organization, professionalism, courtesy and respect of your staff to the families of the deceased as well as all who come to pay their respects.

Thank you from a lifetime resident of New Hyde Park.”

We are so thankful for our community and partners like the Ronald McDonald House and their people like Kelita Hayes, Family Services Coordinator! An annual tradition, Mike McBride delivered some turkeys, Irish soda bread, and kielbasa to the House as well as to the staff of the NHP Funeral Home.

Our Story

The New Hyde Park Funeral Home was established in 1956 as New Hyde Park’s first funeral home and remains the only family owned and operated funeral home in New Hyde Park.

What makes us different?

During your time of need, you will notice why the New Hyde Park Funeral Home is the area's leading funeral home.

  • We are family-owned, unlike other large multi-national corporate funeral homes that are now taking over the New Hyde Park and surrounding areas
