Don’t let the scale defeat you. If you start exercising and your scale number goes up it is possible you are gaining muscle. If you’re able to, get a body fat percentage check to set a good starting base. There are many ways for a BF% check; scales, hand helds, caliper pinches. Although it’s more invasive I recommend the calipers for more accurate results.

One of the biggest deterrents of people eating healthier is the amount of misinformation. TOO MUCH FAT IS BAD, CARBS ARE BAD, DONT EAT THIS BUT DONT EAT THAT EITHER.
