πŸ’™ Keeping Hearts Beating at PCBDD! πŸ’™

We’re thrilled to share that the PCBDD Safety Team has been awarded three Avive AEDs for our campus through the Community Heart Alliance grant!

This incredible gift restores and expands our AED capabilities, ensuring life-saving equipment is available in both professional and public spaces.

A huge thank you to the Community Heart Alliance, Genesis Healthcare System & Foundation, and Jim Mikey at the Perry County Health Department for making this possible. Your generosity strengthens our vision of creating a community without barriers and promotes a safer, more resilient Perry County.

Together, we’re committed to protecting the health and well-being of the people we serve, our staff, and our community.

When we have chances to learn, we can grow in confidence and leadership. Do you know someone who might want to come? Contact Kaitlyn Presley at k.presley@perrydd.org or 740-605-9550.

A Heartfelt Thank You to Perry County

To the residents of Perry County:

Although the recent levy for the Perry County Board of Developmental Disabilities did not have the outcome we hoped for, we remain deeply grateful for the community’s engagement and support throughout this process. We want to extend our sincere thanks to everyone who took the time to learn about our services, share information, and cast a vote.

Despite the challenges posed by limited resources, our dedication to individuals with developmental disabilities and their families remains as strong as ever. We will continue to do everything we can to provide essential services, adapt responsibly, and work towards our vision of community without barriers.

We appreciate the trust this community has placed in us over the years, and we are committed to moving forward with transparency and resilience.

With gratitude,

David C. Couch, Superintendent

and

Caley Boyden, Transitional Assistant Superintendent

🌟GROWING TOGETHER - PEOPLE RECEIVING SERVICES 🌟
-
More people, more possibilities.
-
In the last decade, PCBDD enrollment grew by over 20% β€” and in 2024 alone, we welcomed 29 new people.
-
Looking ahead, we expect a 35% increase in the next 10 years due to expanded eligibility and rapidly rising rates of certain diagnoses, like Autism. We’re growing with our community β€” and we’re here for every step.

The Perry County Board of Developmental Disabilities (PCBDD) of Ohio provides supports to children and adults who have developmental disabilities.

πŸ’₯ NDEAM - Employment Spotlight: Rose is Making a Difference!

🌟 Meet Rose, a valued team member at McDonald's! She plays an important role by delivering food to customers, handing out receipts and keeping the restaurant clean and welcoming.

🌟 Since joining the team, Rose has grown in confidence and communication skills while making new friends along the way.

πŸ‘ Her dedication shows how inclusion strengthens workplaces and communities. Great job, Rose!

FOOD ASSISTANCE IN PERRY &
SURROUNDING COUNTIES

The Perry County Board of DD is aware of the anticipated disruption to SNAP benefits beginning November 1. Like you, we are concerned about the potential impact this may have on the people and families we support. As part of our ongoing commitment to the community, Perry DD is joining efforts to address food insecurity resulting from this disruption.

We are sharing a list of blessing boxes, food pantries, free meal programs, and other food relief resources available throughout Perry County. These organizations are here to support anyone facing food insecurity, so that no one should go hungry.

While we’ve done our best to compile an accurate list, please note that hours and services may change. We recommend you contact each location directly to confirm details, including whether a photo ID or proof of residence is required.
