Struggling with your mental health doesn’t mean something is “wrong” with you—it means you’re carrying something heavy. Everyone goes through hard seasons, and it’s okay if things feel difficult right now.

You don’t need to “fix it” right away. It’s enough to notice what you’re feeling, to acknowledge that it’s real, and to give yourself permission to simply be where you are.

✨ It’s normal to have days when getting through feels like the biggest accomplishment.
✨ It’s normal to need rest, care, or support.
✨ It’s normal to not feel okay all the time.

You are not alone in this. Needing support is human. Taking things one step at a time is enough.

When you need it reach out for help. You can Thrive. We can help.

Progress isn’t always linear.

You may experience moments of growth that feel amazing, and other times when it feels like you’ve taken a step back or aren’t seeing the changes you hoped for. That’s completely normal!

What matters most is your commitment to keep showing up for yourself. Over time, with effort and patience, the overall trend is upward. The journey might not look exactly how you imagined, and it may not follow your preferred timeline — but it is still progress.

Keep going. You are worth it. 💙

🌸 The Afterglow 🌸
Are you craving a space where you can talk openly about postpartum emotions — where you can sit with other mothers who truly understand what you’re going through?

Motherhood can be beautiful—and it can also be a lot. If you’re feeling anxious, low, or simply overwhelmed by all the changes that come with the postpartum season, you are not alone. 💛

The Afterglow is a 6-week therapeutic support group for mothers navigating the emotional ups and downs of the perinatal period. Together, we’ll create a compassionate, confidential, and non-judgmental space for connection, reflection, and healing. 🤍

Let this be a place to breathe, be seen, and find community in the messy, tender, and powerful reality of motherhood. 🌿

Counseling Associates provides telehealth & in‑person mental health care across New Hampshire, Vermont, and Mississippi.

Where might you soften your expectations?

Cognitive Flexibility — the skill of adapting to life’s challenges.

It’s the ability to accept the world as it is — whether we like it or not — and still choose to engage with it in ways that feel meaningful to us. It’s learning to think and respond with less rigidity, allowing room for new perspectives, new solutions, and even peace.

Often, it’s not that our expectations are too high — it’s that they’re too rigid. When we cling tightly to how things should be, we suffer.

If you’re feeling stuck in all-or-nothing thinking, you don’t have to navigate it alone. Counseling Associates is here to support your growth.

Substance use and trauma are often deeply connected.
Too often, treatments focus on one while overlooking the other. Our group is designed to address both SUD and trauma-related symptoms together, helping you build the skills to cope and move toward healing.

Everyone deserves to feel safe — and we’re here to support you on that journey. Group work not only helps you learn new strategies but also reduces the isolation that can come with trauma and substance use.

✨ Join us in creating a safe space, building community, and fostering resilience.

You Can Thrive. We Can Help.

🌬️ Take a breath… and then another.

Breathing is one of the simplest tools we carry with us everywhere. A few slow, steady breaths can calm racing thoughts, ease tension in the body, and bring us back into the present moment. 🌿

It doesn’t have to be fancy—just inhale, exhale, repeat. Your breath is always there to support you. 💙

Therapists often recommend breathing exercises, a mindfulness practice, or gentle movement like yoga.

Our Embodied Yoga group is a 10-week closed group using Trauma Center Trauma Sensitive Yoga (TCTSY), which is an evidence-based adjunct treatment for Complex Trauma and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). To enroll or inquire, please visit our website: ca-mh.com

Happy Fall! Many New Englanders would say that fall is one of their favorite seasons. It means we get to watch the trees change color and snuggle up in cozy clothes.

However, that is not true for everyone. In the fall, we find that there are also shorter days, and the cooler weather may mean we don't get outside as often. Some might even begin to notice symptoms of Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD).

To help combat these symptoms, it can be helpful to get outside as frequently as possible, engage in regular movement activities, use tools such as light therapies, and reach out for professional help when needed!

What do you do for self-care during the fall?

Think of it as a gentle journaling exercise: what images, colors, or words would you pin to your board? What story do they tell about who you are right now? ✨
We’d love to see what inspires you—share your vibe below! 💬
