We are an agency that believes in second chances and the ability of people to find recovery. The path to recovery is not one-directional.

Our empathetic, compassionate staff are dedicated to supporting people in their recovery. We believe that an individual must be motivated to help him/herself, but we also know that individuals need a close-knit system of human relationships to support them in this difficult process. Each of our programs incorporates this philosophy into the clients treatment plan. For this reason, SCADD offers a v

ariety of levels of care to support recovery continuity based on the appropriate intensity of intervention needed. No matter where you’re from or what your story is, we will work to help you find the best fit for your needs.

A huge THANK YOU to our incredible partners at Cushman Farms for their generous donation of manure to enrich our gardens. Your support helps us continue to grow something truly meaningful. 💚

As the season begins, our gardens will soon be thriving—providing fresh, nourishing food for our kitchens, clients, staff, and neighbors. These gardens are more than just a source of food—they are a space for healing, connection, and growth in recovery. 🌼

We join the community in honoring the life and legacy of Bennie Alfred Jennings, who passed away peacefully on April 5, 2026.

Mr. Jennings was a dedicated leader, veteran, and community advocate whose impact reached far beyond any one organization. As Executive Director of the Opportunities Industrialization Center (OIC) of New London County, he spent more than two decades creating opportunities through education, workforce development, and empowerment.

His commitment to service extended across countless organizations, including his role as a Board Member of SCADD. Through his leadership, advocacy, and unwavering dedication, he helped strengthen the fabric of our community and uplift generations of individuals and families.

Mr. Jennings’ legacy is one of integrity, service, and lasting impact. He will be remembered not only for his many accomplishments but for the lives he touched along the way.

We extend our deepest condolences to his wife, Mildred, his daughters, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all who knew and loved him.
