🌟 Successful Resident Discharge: Ann Nelson 🌟

Ann came to Harbor Village after a foot fracture, needing to improve her strength, endurance, balance, and safety to regain independence with self-care and mobility. She had some assistance from in-home caregivers before admission, and her rehab goal was simple: “To get back home.”

Through determination, curiosity, and a fun-loving attitude, Ann made progress in all areas and is now safely discharged home. She enjoyed her time in rehab, describing Harbor Village as a comfortable, home-like atmosphere, and appreciated the caring PT team who supported her every step of the way. 💙

🎃 Harbor Halloween Happenings! 👻

Today, Harbor Village was full of festive spirit as our staff dressed up for our annual Halloween parade — spreading laughter, smiles, and spooky fun while visiting residents in their rooms! 🎭

From Cookie Monsters and Pokémon to Freddie Mercury, a dragon, a 50s Pink Lady, the Bride of Frankenstein, Charlotte’s Web, a fairy, and even a Squid Game VIP — creativity was on full display! 💫

Departments also joined in on the fun with a Pumpkin Decoration Contest, and congratulations to Nursing for taking home the win with their eyeball pumpkin — three years in a row! 👁️🏆🎉

It was a day filled with joy, community, and a whole lot of Halloween spirit! 🧡🕸️

On Tuesday, our Admissions Director, Rich Sajdak, and Therapeutic Recreation Director, David Karliner, spread some sweetness in New London by delivering cookies to our incredible first responders in gratitude for their dedication and service. 🍪💙

Continuing Staff Education at Harbor Village Rehabilitation & Nursing Center! 📚✨

Last week, our dedicated team participated in an interactive education fair led by IPN/Staff Development Ashley Casale, refreshing their skills in infection prevention, sepsis identification, fall prevention and recovery, safe patient handling, memory care, tracheostomy care, and peritoneal dialysis care. 👩‍⚕️🩺

These hands-on learning experiences help ensure our staff stays up-to-date with the latest nursing standards and provides the highest quality of care to our residents every day. 💛

When Harbor Village Rehabilitation & Nursing Center was tasked with trick-or-treating Beechwood Health & Rehabilitation Center, they decided to go full trick instead! From flamingoes taking over the lawn 🦩, to rubber duckies invading the halls 🦆, and a little TP surprise here and there 🧻… our team went all out! 😂💀
