Please keep this data in mind before you decide to do any outdoor burning. Everything is very dry, and fire can spread quickly. Last fall, we had a significant number of large, out-of-control fires due to open burning. We would like not to repeat that this year.

Drought update . . . The latest drought monitor places much of our region under severe drought conditions. Portions of Jefferson, Brooke, Hancock, Carroll, and Columbiana have been upgraded to an extreme drought. droughtmonitor.unl.edu

Today we renewed our Rapid Response License through WVOEMS!

This 4-year license allows us to continue providing Basic Life Support (BLS) services to the citizens of our district, as well as to neighboring mutual aid districts when needed.

We also successfully passed inspection for both of our state-licensed response vehicles, ensuring they’re ready and fully equipped to serve our community.

On 4/22/2025 we conducted a mock DUI for Oak Glen High School prior to their prom. We'd like to thank New Cumberland Volunteer Fire Department, Hancock County Sheriff's Departmen (Chance Weyand), Lifeteam EMS , and Six Recycling (Greg Six II) for helping to put this on for the students. It's just another way for us to be involved with the communities we serve. Special thanks to Jeremiah Cole and Justin Shaw for also volunteering to help out this year.
