This weekend was Ogden Newspapers Wellness Weekend, sponsored by WVU Medicine, just up the river in Wheeling! On Sunday, one of our very own nurses from the WCH Infusion Center, Valerie Fisher, crushed the Tough as Nails Urban Challenge!

The Tough as Nails Urban Challenge is a 6-mile obstacle course held each year during Wellness Weekend, designed to test the strength, speed, and agility of even the toughest competitors. We are so proud of Valerie and her determination, grit, and hard work in conquering this challenging course. Congratulations on an incredible accomplishment!

Last week, we celebrated National Hospital Week at Wetzel County Hospital!

We’re grateful for the incredible team members who make a difference every day, and we loved taking the time to celebrate all they do. Throughout the week, staff enjoyed baby kangaroos, food trucks, dress-up days, games, prizes, and plenty of fun together!

Join us tomorrow in the Wetzel County Hospital parking lot for a fun-filled day of food, shopping, and Hospital Week festivities!

Beginning at 11:00 a.m., we will have an assortment of food trucks on site serving up some of our favorite foods — plus an added bonus of a boutique truck for a little shopping fun!

Everyone is welcome to stop by and purchase from the trucks, and we are excited to celebrate Hospital Week with our staff and community. We can’t wait to see you there!

Wetzel County Hospital has received a 3-year Mammography Accreditation from the American College of Radiology (ACR)!

This prestigious accreditation signifies that our Mammography department has passed a rigorous, voluntary peer-review evaluation and meets the highest national standards for patient safety, equipment performance, image quality, and staff qualifications. Often recognized as the “gold standard” in medical imaging, ACR accreditation reflects our ongoing commitment to providing exceptional care to our patients and community.

This past week, we have been celebrating National Nurses Week! Here at Wetzel County Hospital, we are incredibly thankful for the amazing nurses who care for our patients and communities with compassion, skill, and dedication each and every day.

We had a wonderful time celebrating our nursing staff throughout the week — from blessing the hands of our nurses to enjoying some delicious treats together, it was a special opportunity to show our appreciation for all that they do.
