Today we celebrate the incredible impact of rural healthcare and the dedicated professionals who make it possible. At New Milford Hospital’s Rural-Track Family Medicine Residency Program, we’re proud to train physicians who are passionate about serving rural communities.

Currently, 4 amazing residents are gaining hands-on experience in our program—and we’re excited to recruit 4 more this year to join this mission!

A few weeks ago, our Program Faculty attend AAFP Congress of Delegates.

Dr. Robert Carr (Program Director) and Dr. Kathleen Mueller (Director of Integrative Health) attended the AAFP Congress of Delegates in Anaheim, California last week. The Congress includes two delegates from each state chapter and develops national policy and strategic direction for the AAFP. Dr. Carr is one of the two delegates representing Connecticut and Dr. Mueller is a member of the AAFP Board of Directors.

The New Milford FM Residency Team attended the Northwell Health Family Medicine Academic Day and had a highly rewarding experience. With the support of the family medicine research team, the residents created a poster presentation titled "Pioneering Insights from the Inaugural Class of a Rural Family Medicine Residency". Furthermore, PGY-1 resident Johnny Phan gained hands-on experience with in-office cystoscopy as shown below. It was a truly successful day for Family Medicine!
