Professional Advisor for Mature Dating

I've been thinking for awhile to add: "Dating coach" to my services. As a couples therapist for half century, I know what it takes to have relationships work. Also, I have personal experience with using dating sites to find long-term monogamous relationships myself. The issues of safety, knowing yourself, being clear-eyed about what you are looking for, being disciplined in your search and all the other aspects of "dating as a mature person". I have been doing short term virtual counseling (4 or 5 sessions) for over 15 years, nationally and Internationally. I have a step-by-step system I can share that will increase a person’s chances of finding the one person that most fits what they are looking for.

The Therapy Forest
The 50-Minute Hour:
Since Freud in the early 1900s, this has been the expected amount of time for sessions. Insurance companies, in order to cut costs usually break down the payment into 15-minute segments.
There is NO evidence that the length of a session is related to positive therapy outcomes. I've frequently completed sessions in 15 or twenty minutes if the client has done their "homework" and is progressing toward their treatment goals.

It’s very important that we are open and listen to our clients and understand as best we can how their culture influences them. A client’s view of the world influences their expectations of how counseling may work for them. There was an interesting study that measured client satisfaction comparing those who attended therapy vs. those who went to an astrologer. There was no difference in client satisfaction! Ex- pectations one has of a helper influences satisfaction.
A reminder about the influences that result in im- proving Therapeutic Effectiveness:
◊ Techniques used 15%
◊ Client hope 15%
◊ The therapeutic relationship 30%
◊ Things outside the relationship 40%
