This week, we hosted our Amazing Agers seminar on Cancer Care. Thank you to our keynote speakers, Dr. Stephen Carriere, Karley Boagni, MPAS, PA-C, and Whitney Washington, NP. Amazing Agers learned about Prostate Cancer, Breast Cancer treatment, screenings, and bone health. Following the seminar, participants were invited to receive a free PSA Screening.

"What we have planned for ourselves is not always what life has planned." This saying rang true for 34-yr old Maressa Aparicio, diagnosed with stage one cervical cancer days before her wedding in 2021. "I felt positive through my cancer diagnosis and treatment because Dr. Joan Cheng was just so open, caring, and frank about how we were going to get through it," shared Maressa. Vaccines can be every bit as essential for older adults as they are for kids. We receive immunizations during childhood because it offers the best opportunity to prevent disease by ramping up the body’s immune system before it is exposed to certain viruses. Over the years, the immunity provided by certain vaccinations can wane, creating the need for booster shots to provide renewed immunity.
