Together, we reflected on the impact of Hurricane Katrina and the heroic efforts of our team members caring for our patients. To commemorate the anniversary, we unveiled "Roots of Resilience," a painting by Cheryl Anne Grace, to reflect Touro's roots within the community and the growth we experienced as a result of Hurricane Katrina.

We've got the gold!🏅 Touro earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval for Advanced Certification for Perinatal Care (ACPC) granted in collaboration with the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. The surveyors commended the Touro team's commitment to engagement and improvement, and our strong perinatal care measure outcomes. The Gold Seal is a symbol of quality that reflects Touro’s efforts to achieve integrated, coordinated, and patient-centered prenatal through postpartum care, including both complicated and uncomplicated pregnancies. Congratulations to the 2025 Kaplan Compassionate Physician Honoree, Louis Paul du Treil, M.D.! Dr. Murrel H. Kaplan was Chief of Internal Medicine at Touro from 1957-1962 and served his patients and the hospital with distinction as a member of the medical staff for 50 years. The Kaplan Compassionate Physician Award is given annually to an active physician affiliated with Touro Infirmary who demonstrates the characteristics of compassion and caring.
