Today is Southern HIV/AIDS Awareness Day ( )—and the numbers tell the story. The South is home to 38% of the U.S. population but accounts for 52% of new HIV diagnoses. And while prevention is key, the region has just 12 PrEP users for every new diagnosis—one of the lowest ratios in the country.

Stigma and barriers to care fuel these gaps—but together, we can change them. Learn more and take action at bouncetozero.com.

What a powerful day! 🧡
Last week, our team hosted a special event in honor of HIV Long-Term Survivors Awareness Day, celebrating 30+ years of HIV care and impact in the New Orleans area.
From reflection to action, we explored the legacy of long-term survivors, the ongoing fight against stigma, and the importance of equitable, community-driven care. Thank you to everyone who joined us in lifting this mission.
Let’s keep moving forward—together.

Today is HIV Long-Term Survivors Awareness Day. This year’s theme, “Leading with Legacy,” honors the strength, resilience, and voices of people who’ve lived with HIV for decades.
As nearly half of the people living with HIV in the U.S. are over the age of 50, today is a powerful reminder to support survivors, fight stigma, and ensure everyone has access to care that helps them thrive.
Let’s keep honoring the journey—and moving forward together.

This National Asian & Pacific Islander HIV/AIDS Awareness Day, we highlight the importance of increasing HIV education, testing, and treatment within Asian and Pacific Islander communities. Despite lower overall HIV rates, these communities face unique challenges, including cultural stigma and limited access to care.

In 2021, Asian individuals had the lowest HIV testing rates among all racial and ethnic groups in the U.S, and HIV diagnoses in the Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander community increased by 65%.

Let's work together to break down barriers, promote inclusive healthcare, and support those affected by HIV. Learn more and find resources at bouncetozero.com.

Today, we observe HIV Vaccine Awareness Day ( ) to honor the efforts of scientists, healthcare professionals, volunteers, and community members working towards developing a safe and effective HIV vaccine. Although a vaccine is not available yet, recent advancements are bringing us closer to this goal.

💉 An HIV vaccine would be a pivotal tool in ending the HIV epidemic, complementing existing prevention methods like PrEP and treatment options.

Join us in acknowledging the progress made and the work ahead. Learn more at avac.org/.
