Louisiana-Mississippi Hospice & Palliative Care Organization Advancing quality hospice and palliative care in Louisiana and Mississippi through education, advocacy and support. Our Purpose:

1.

Together, we are stronger for patients, families and providers. LMHPCO is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit educational organization. All donations are tax deductible to the fullest extent of law. Increase public awareness with regards hospice and other end of life care;

2. Provide educational programs for members and the public concerning hospice and other end of life care;

3. Serve as an information network between and among hospice and other end of life care agencies in Louisiana and Mississippi, and link them to other such agencies and programs throughout the United States;

4. Assist Louisiana and Mississippi hospice and other end of life care agencies and programs in their development and operation;

5. Provide technical and other advice and assistance to governmental agencies engaged in the supervision and regulation of hospice and other end of life care;

6. Build coalitions for improving hospice and other end of life care

We’re excited to highlight Linda Smith, RN, BSN, who serves as a Louisiana At-Large Member on the LMHPCO Board of Directors and the Executive Director of Anvoi Palliative & Hospice Care. With years of experience in hospice nursing and a deep commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care, Linda plays an essential role in supporting both her local community and the broader LMHPCO mission.

Meet Dan Campbell - MS at Large Board Member

Dan is the Owner and CEO of Dignity Hospice MS, one of the few privately owned hospices in Mississippi. He holds degrees in Business Administration and Finance from Mississippi College, where he was a member of the Mortar Board honor society.

Dan has served patients in various capacities over the past 15 years. He is dedicated to providing family-centered, holistic support to patients and their loved ones. He takes pride in personally knowing his staff, patients, and families; ensuring that compassionate care remains at the heart of his organization.

His greatest passions are spending time with his family, outdoor activities, community involvement, and caring for the elderly. These all help form the values that continue to guide and inspire his work in the community and hospice.

Cindy is Chief Compliance Officer for Allegiance Healthcare: Home Health, Hospice & Palliative Care. With more than 25 years of leadership experience across healthcare settings, Cindy is deeply skilled in hospice and home health operations, acquisitions, compliance, strategic planning, QAPI, HIPAA, physician relations, and healthcare advocacy. Her wide-ranging expertise includes CMS Conditions of Participation, Medicare, Medicaid, State Licensing Standards and payer relations, making her a trusted voice in the industry.

Cindy has served LMHPCO in various roles since 2010, most recently as Board President, where her commitment to advancing hospice and palliative care throughout Louisiana and Mississippi has left a lasting impact.

Meet Laurie Gallagher, BS – LMHPCO Treasurer.

Laurie is the Administrator of Haydel Memorial Hospice, where she oversees a team of employees and volunteers, ensuring compassionate, quality care for patients and families. With more than two decades in healthcare, her experience spans roles in medical social services and hospice leadership.

A dedicated advocate for her community in Houma, LA, Laurie serves on multiple boards and committees, including our advocacy organization, Alliance for the Advancement of End of Life Care, and Fletcher’s Business Advisory Board. She also brings leadership experience from Rotary and local networking organizations.

For Laurie, hospice is more than a career, it’s a calling shaped by her own personal experiences with loved ones. Her commitment to advocacy, service, and compassionate care is at the heart of her work with LMHPCO. πŸ’™
