Our Story

Welcome to Atlas Psychiatry. We are a full service psychiatry office located in New Orleans and dedicated to helping children and adults stabilize and improve their lives. Our approach starts with a strong focus on properly diagnosing all of a patient's mental health needs, and then finding the best treatments for addressing each one. Our highly experienced doctors and staff offer medications, individual and group psychotherapy, genetic testing, Ketamine Therapy, Virtual Reality for PTSD, and TMS Therapy. We are especially experienced in treating patients with medically complex cases, and are committed to finding solutions and bringing our patients relief. We offer Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation. TMS is a new therapy proven to be safe and effective in the treatment of depression. We have seen fantastic results from this therapy and are proud to be able to offer it for our patients. Dr. Pejic is one of the foremost experts in TMS Therapy operating in the New Orleans area and his highly trained technicians assist in treatments. Atlas Psychiatry is headed by Dr. Pejic, a Board Certified Adult Psychiatrist with deep ties to New Orleans. A graduate of Tulane University with honors, Dr. Pejic was completing his internship in psychiatry at Charity Hospital when Hurricane Katrina struck in 2005, and was honored to serve as Chief Resident in the post-Katrina years and completed a fellowship in Psychosomatic Medicine at University Hospital-New Orleans. In addition to his practice, Dr. Pejic lectures in the community and at Tulane and LSU Medical Schools. On a personal note, Dr. Pejic is married to Psychologist Laura Niditch PhD. (Yes, they analyze each other.). He loves running in Audubon park, pick-up basketball, skiing, playing the guitar, rooting for the Saints and keeping up with the latest advances in his field of practice.
