As team dentist of the NBA’s New Orleans Pelicans🏀, Dr. Anderson has to be in attendance for all home games in the Smoothie King Center.

If any dental related injuries occur during the game to our players, the opposing team’s players, the coaches/training staff of either team, or the referees, then Dr. Anderson is on call and present to assess the situation and determine if treatment is necessary. Dr. Anderson has a dental trauma kit on site in case immediate treatment is needed.

Dr. Anderson is a proud member of the Academy of Sports Dentistry as well as the International Association of Dental Traumatology.

Most dental related injuries in sports can be avoided or greatly diminished by wearing a custom made mouthguard. The use of a mouthguard is recommended for all contact sports including basketball at all levels; professional, collegiate, high-school, amateur levels as well as weekend warrior athletes.

Therapeutic Botox 💉 consists of gentle injections into the Masseter muscle of the face. The Botox weakens the overactive muscle enough to reduce grinding force without affecting normal chewing.

Beyond relieving pain, this treatment reduces TMJ discomfort, headaches, and can slim the face by reducing Masseter muscle hypertrophy.

The procedure takes a few minutes with results appearing within a few days. Results typically last 3 to 4 months, but with repeated treatments, the muscles may atrophy, allowing for longer intervals between sessions.
