The founder and director, Stacey Griffin, is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who graduated from the Tulane School of Social Work in 1995. Griffin has been working in the field with families since 1994 with organizations such as Crescent House Battered Women's Shelter, Child Protective Services and Odyssey House Family Center. The clinical staff consists of Masters level mental health professionals (licensed and provisionally licensed counselors and social workers), as well as a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist. Milestones Mental Health Agency provides a variety of mental health services to children/adolescents (ages 4-17) with emotional/ behavioral disorders. We are locally owned and operated, and have been providing services to the families of Orleans and Jefferson parishes since 2000. Our counseling services are provided in our clients’ homes and schools to better meet their needs. We currently provide services to 250 children/adolescents in over 100 schools.
Our services include: Assessment, treatment planning, family and individual counseling, skills training, 24/7 crisis services, parent education, medication management, as well as ongoing collaboration with schools and other involved agencies and referral assistance. We can provide services on evenings and weekends, if needed. We also provide counseling to the caretakers raising our clients who are struggling with their own issues of childhood trauma, mental disorders and/or current life stressors.
The founder and director, Stacey Griffin, is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who received a Master of Social Work degree from the Tulane School of Social Work in 1995. Ms. Griffin has been working in the field with families since 1994 with organizations such as Crescent House Battered Women's Shelter, Child Protective Services and Odyssey House Family Center. Her mother was a public school teacher in New Orleans, and her father a NOPD Police Officer. She recalls from an early age hearing her parents discuss the poor education, crime, mental illness and poverty in our community , and the need for more people to get involved to promote change.
Our clinical staff consists only of Masters level counselors and social workers, who are either fully or provisionally licensed by their boards, and have experience providing counseling. Background checks and drug testing are performed to ensure the safety of our staff and clients.
Milestones is state-licensed by DHH, CARF accredited, and also a member of the Louisiana Behavioral Health Partnership.
