🍃 mini story time/new name/new office announcements 🍃
Hello all! I changed my business name and have a new office space to see clients! What was once St Claude Healing Arts is now Handle with Care. It's still me, Meghan, typing on the other end of this post, here for your massage/pottery/herbal medicine/& healing arts needs in the Bay Area, CA.
For those who aren't New Orleans based, I may not have ever explained, but St Claude is the name of a street and main thorough fare where I lived and worked, providing body work and herbs to neighbors and clients, for several years! So simply put the name St Claude Healing Arts when I'm not working on or around St Claude just seems off. I knew when I first started marketing myself and trying to create a client base in California, that it was maybe a little confusing, but amidst the abrupt move, caring for my dad, and so much change in such a short period of time, I stubbornly wanted something to stay the same, even if it didn't totally make sense. I also straight up did not have the bandwidth for the multi step and many little decision process of a rebrand. Plus, what's wrong with an artsy healing business being a little creatively mysterious (said the scorpio)? A year and a half later, I'm ready for this little sprucing up! A name is just a name, but a location specific one is worth updating when your location changes.
Of course what feels harder to admit is the emotional piece, perhaps letting go of a frontward facing nod to the city I love and miss so much was its whole other layer. I have made really sweet connections with people here who recognized St Claude in my name at art markets and we got to bond over the tough love of New Orleans and the feelings of being far away. But changing my business name of course does not mean I won't massage in New Orleans again (hopefully in September, in fact)! Thanks for witnessing my clunky and imperfect process.
My booking site is where you can schedule a massage on Mondays and Wednesdays at the wonderful and if you're in San Francisco, I work at on Sundays.
