Sunscreen applied to half of the face and shown under a UV light! 😱

You can see how the sunscreen looks like a shield protecting the skin. Daily sunscreen is essential to block harmful UVA and UVB rays from being absorbed into the skin. This lowers the risk of sun burns, skin cancer and sun damage (wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, uneven texture, dilated pores, sagging skin).

The best sunscreen is the one you are most likely to use every day! Choose a broad-spectrum formula with an SPF of 30 or higher and don’t forget to reapply esp. after swimming or sweating. Even when it’s cloudy, up to 80% of the sun’s UV radiation reaches the earth. Going unprotected on an overcast day can lead to skin damage. And don’t forget your ears, back of your neck, scalp (on the part line), tops of your feet and behind your knees. Every inch of your body needs protection!

Here I am 4️⃣0️⃣ years ago on the first day I started my practice from scratch right out of residency!

Even though I had an 18 month old at home, I decided I didn’t want to join another dermatology practice and take the easy way - I wanted to forge a new path because I felt that “aesthetic” dermatology was my future. Since non-surgical cosmetic practices didn’t exist in 1984, I knew I needed to start my own.

So I chopped off all my hair and never looked back! I am glad that I can be a role model for young women who want to take their own path and rely only on their own vision and resilience.
