Last week almost felt insufferable. Despite the news of multiple losses, I made myself get up and engage in valued actions. I could have canceled every plan made because of the weight of grief, but instead, I leaned into my values and decided that thriving in spite of…was better than merely existing. I dedicated my actions to the gentle souls who took their last breaths last week, honoring their full but brief lives. My response to life’s unexpected and painful turns is simple, I choose to thrive.
