Drinking water does not have to be boring! Our team at St. Jude’s created a festive hydration cart to encourage our residents to stay hydrated! Residents also get to decide what fruit they want to infuse their water with.

Last week, our residents worked hard to build a new garden! As a special treat, Kona Ice was on-site to ensure our family had a nice cold treat.

St. Jude's Health & Wellness is now rated 4 out of 5 stars for overall quality by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). The stars are based on the CMS rating overall quality measures at the nursing home, health inspections and staffing. According to CMS, the primary goal of this rating system is to provide residents and their families with an easy way to understand assessment of nursing home quality, making meaningful distinctions between high and low performing nursing homes.

Our residents love socializing and playing interactive games! At St. Jude's Health & Wellness, we utilize IN2L, a content-driven tool to boost engagement while using touch screen systems. One of their favorite games is Family Feud!

Today is a big day for the St. Jude’s family! We are extremely proud to announce that St. Jude’s graduated the first LA-PEER class in the state of Louisiana. The PEER program consisted of six rigorous classes taught by state Ombundsman Beverly Gianna and Vickie Castay. In these classes our residents learned how to self advocate and think critically in order to solve problems in an effort to create the best environment possible for themselves and their fellow peers.

Congratulations to these 5 special residents and the entire St. Jude’s team for being part of such a monumental event in the world of long term care. 💙🧡
