We’re leading the way! We are the first to bring Teen Mental Health First Aid Training into schools in Louisiana, and the Plaquemines Parish School Board is the first in the state to implement it. Hear from their superintendent, Dr. Ritz, on the phenomenal feedback from Belle Chasse High School students and teachers, and how this program is making a real difference in the community.

Our Executive/Medical Director, Dr. Rochelle Head-Dunham explains what Mental Health First Aid is—a crisis response and support system designed to help people of all ages recognize, understand, and respond to signs of mental health challenges. MHSD is proud to offer Mental Health First Aid Training as one of our many support services to equip our communities with the tools to step in, offer support, and connect someone to the help that they need.
