Ever feel like your brain has 37 tabs open and they’re all glitching? 🧠💥 Float therapy is your reset button.

When you float, you’re suspended effortlessly in warm, salt-rich water, no pressure on your joints, no distractions, no noise. Just silence, stillness, and space to finally exhale.

It’s not just relaxing, it’s backed by science. Floating has been shown to reduce stress, lower cortisol, ease chronic pain, and help you sleep better. Think of it like a deep reboot for your nervous system.

If your mind feels loud and your body feels tired, this might be exactly what you didn’t know you needed. 🛁✨

There’s a point where pushing harder stops working. Your body is built for survival, not burnout. Float therapy isn’t a luxury…it’s a reset for your nervous system. No gravity, no noise, no pressure to perform. Just space to breathe and come back to yourself. It’s not about checking out, it’s about checking in. When you learn to let go, you come back stronger. So if you feel like you’re starting to sink, maybe it’s time to stop swimming. Just float.

🌊 Magnesium Magic: Why Floating Is Basically a Chill Pill for Your Whole Body

Ever wonder why you feel so relaxed after a float? It’s not just the zero gravity vibes, it’s the 1,000+ pounds of magnesium-rich Epsom salt your body is soaking in.

Here’s what that magnesium is doing behind the scenes:

✨ Muscle Recovery: Magnesium helps relax sore, tight muscles. It’s like giving your whole body a deep tissue massage from the inside out.

🧠 Mood Boosting: Magnesium supports your nervous system, helps regulate stress hormones, and even plays a role in serotonin production. Floating = instant mood upgrade.

😴 Better Sleep: Low magnesium = poor sleep. Floating gives your body a mega dose of the mineral that helps you fall asleep faster and sleep deeper. (Yes, even if your brain has a million tabs open.)

💥 Energy Reset: Ironically, relaxing in magnesium helps your cellular energy work better. So you leave calm and more energized.

🦴 Bone + Heart Health: Magnesium is a foundational mineral for healthy bones and a calm, steady heartbeat. You need it and your body loves it.

And the best part? Your skin soaks it right up. Floating is one of the most effective ways to replenish magnesium without a supplement.

🌊 Come float, recharge, and soak in the science.

Fascia is the body’s connective tissue network, a sensitive, adaptable system that wraps around every muscle, bone, nerve, and organ. When we’re under chronic stress, fascia can become dense, sticky, and restricted, leading to tightness, inflammation, and reduced mobility.

One major culprit? Cortisol, the body’s primary stress hormone. When cortisol stays elevated from ongoing stress, it keeps the nervous system stuck in “fight or flight” mode and blocks the body’s ability to rest, repair, and restore. Over time, this creates tension patterns that settle deep into the fascia.

The good news: fascia responds well to gentle, consistent care. Things like daily stretching, breathwork, slow walks, Epsom salt baths, and foam rolling at home can help keep your fascia hydrated and resilient.

At Float Nola, we also support fascia health through massage therapy, which helps break up adhesions and improve circulation. Our infrared sauna warms the tissues and supports detoxification, and floatation therapy deeply relaxes the nervous system to lower cortisol and promote full-body restoration.

Whether at home or in the studio, supporting your fascia means moving with more ease, recovering faster, and feeling more connected to your body.

Ever feel like everything is just too loud?
The notifications. The news. The to-do list. Even your own thoughts.

Float therapy is the opposite of all that.
No pressure. No noise. No gravity.

Just you, suspended in warm, silent water—where your nervous system finally exhales.
No performing. No fixing. Just being.

No noise. No weight. Just you.
Come float. You might not realize how much you needed it.

Magnesium-saturated water (aka epsom salt), kept at a temperature that matches your skin’s, keeps you effortlessly buoyant so you don’t have to worry about staying afloat. With little to touch, taste, smell, hear, or feel, you’re wrapped in a cocoon of warmth and silence, with only your thoughts keep you company. Herein lies the magic of floating – it puts you in a meditative state to better heal what ails you.

Neck tension isn’t just uncomfortable, it’s a sign your body may be stuck in protection mode.

Your neck is more than posture.
It’s home to the vagus nerve, phrenic nerve, lymphatic pathways, and crucial drainage systems for your brain. When those systems are blocked or strained, it can affect everything: your breath, energy, balance, even how clearly you think.

At Float Nola, we look at the body as a whole.
When your hips, core, or jaw aren’t fully supporting you, your neck steps in to overcompensate. It grips, tightens, and holds which leads to exhaustion, pain, and slow recovery.

That tension can show up in everyday movement:
How you sit, walk, work out, or even sleep. You may not even realize your neck is doing the heavy lifting.

And it doesn’t stop there.
Subtle issues in the jaw, tongue, or palate can add to the stress which disrupts your breathing and natural stability.

That’s why we combine therapeutic massage, float therapy which are holistic approaches to help your body reset and relax.

When your muscles move in harmony, your body can finally exhale.
Movement becomes easier. Healing becomes possible. Vitality returns.

Welcome!

Established in 2018.

The concept of Flot Nola began 12 years ago. With regular vacations in New Orleans and our dedication to the spa industry it only seemed perfect to open Flot Nola. We didn't know when or where that would happen but now that our decade + old concept is a reality we are more than excited to be a part of such a robust, grounded and wholesome community! Apart from services like massage and skin care our unique menu also includes floatation therapy, oxygen bar and infrared sauna therapies. These services are what we have offered previously in our other practices in North Carolina and Virginia, they're what we know, breathe and love!
