We wish to thank the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office office for their continued dedication and commitment to the search and rescue of Tim Morrison. We hope that our prayers and those of his family, friends and co-workers are answered. We’d like to thank the many organizations and people who have worked tirelessly to respond to this incident in its immediate aftermath, those who have provided continuous service by ensuring that the environment was not impacted, those who have regulatory oversight of this incident, and those who are providing the best possible medical care to the 7 people who were injured. The men and women of the U.S. Coast Guard, the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality, Wildlife and Fisheries, the Jefferson Parish President's office, the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office, the KennerPolice department, the Mayor of Kenner's office, multiple fire departments, agencies from neighboring parishes, The Lake Pontchartrain Basin Foundation, and private individuals have showed their professionalism and compassion on many levels.
We request, on behalf of our employees and their families, that media refrain from outreach to them during this period of grief and recovery, beyond what is readily accepted by the affected individuals and their families. We are informed that aggressive attempts to interview are creating unnecessary stress for people who are already going through a great deal.
There was a media report last night that implied that Clovelly Oil is not in compliance with EPA reporting requirements. This is errant information and the reporter in question was provided with a copy of the report, the signed receipt of the report (timely filed) on the regulator’s end, and a description of the process for reporting, which was followed.
