The word "Christmas" comes from "Christ's Mass," the celebration of Jesus Christ's birth. The Christmas season in the Church calendar begins on Christmas Day, December 25, and continues for twelve days until the Feast of the Epiphany on January 6. During this joyful season, we celebrate the incredible gift of God becoming human—Emmanuel, which means "God with us." Jesus came as a tiny baby in Bethlehem to show us God's love and to bring God's light into our world. The Christmas season reminds us that God is always with us, in the big moments and the small, even in the dark, cold days of winter. How does your family celebrate and keep the joy of Christmas alive throughout the season? Do you have special traditions, read the Nativity story together, or find ways to share God's love with others? Merry Christmas, everyone!
