Right here in Louisiana, hope is showing up in real ways. ๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ’š Community events like this remind us that no one has to face mental health challenges alone.

The gathering, set for Tuesday, February 24, at 6 p.m., will be held at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center on LSUโ€™s campus.

A nonprofit is hosting an event to raise awareness about mental health and bring hope to people facing mental health challenges.

Weโ€™re so used to the idea of Lent being about "no" โ€” no chocolate, no caffeine, no scrolling. But Susan Harrington joined the local news to share why adding a "yes" might actually be better for your mental health.

The science is pretty simple: while giving things up can feel like a chore, adding a positive habit creates a boost in your brain (hello, dopamine!) that helps you actually stick with it. ๐Ÿง โœจ

Whether itโ€™s checking in on a neighbor, finally starting that project youโ€™ve been putting off, or just being more intentional with your family, these small additions can change the whole vibe of your season.

Check out the clip to see Susan break down the "positive sacrifice" approach. ๐Ÿ’š

Lent often feels like a giant to-do list of things we arenโ€™t allowed to have, but it doesn't have to be that heavy.

Instead of the usual routine of giving something up, what if this year was more about what you add to your life? Susan Harrington, our founder, suggests that adopting a positive habit can be a major boost to your mental health.

Maybe itโ€™s.....an extra ten minutes of quiet in the morning......a real conversation with a friend...... or finally leaning into that hobby thatโ€™s been sitting on the shelf.

Itโ€™s less about being perfect and more about just being a little more intentional with how weโ€™re taking care of ourselves and the people we love.

Small shifts can change the whole vibe of your day. Weโ€™ve put together a list of simple ideas for families and individuals over on the blog.

As always, if things feel a bit much right now or you just need a hand getting started, weโ€™re here to listen. ๐Ÿ’š

Did you know that adding something positive to your life during Lent, alongside making a sacrifice, can provide a major boost to your mental health? When many people sacrifice a particular vice or habit on Ash Wednesday, Maison Vieโ€™s founder and licensed marriage and family therapist Susan Harring...

Happy Mardi Gras ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’›

However you celebrate, take a moment to check in with yourself. Eat the king cake. Catch the beads. Step away when you need to.

Joy and rest can coexist.

Your Biggest Family Support

Susan G. Harrington opened Maison Vie with a single idea: She wished families could experience what she did in her family. Her parents provided she and her sister with a home filled with love, discipline, and quality time. They grew a garden of all the vegetables they loved, cooked meals every day, and learned how to heal their hurts naturally.

YOUR HAPPY PLACE

Maison Vie is literally an image of her childhood home and culture. Susan is Cajun and in her familyโ€™s language Maison Vie means โ€œLife-giving home.โ€ Her dream is that one day she can grow Maison Vie into an extra large family home where everyone can share meal time together, experience quality time in a grand family atmosphere so that every client and every family Maison Vie helps is also able to bring their own family love, discipline, and togetherness into their home.
