Ahhhhhh! And, here we are!!

Happy April and Happy Word of the Month 🌟🌟🌟 So happy you could join me!

This month, I used the phrase, Fools Gold. I thought it would be fun to include Fool, cause you know...April Fools. Also, this is another fascinating one for me. What does this mean to you? Have you ever used the term or phrase before? It's so interesting to use these words of the month to reflect on the world as we currently know it.

Please join me in thinking about this phrase/term this month. Reflecting on it and how it plays into our daily lives. πŸ§πŸ™‡πŸΏβ€β™€οΈπŸ“šβœ¨

I sat on my Words of the Month for the beginning of 2026. Catching up, and now on March πŸ˜„
I decided to use part of a saying this time. The whole thing goes something like, "it's hard to see the forest through the trees."I took a photo while walking through a neighborhood I lived in a long time ago, and there was a gnarly bunch of branches and bushes, and then a little past that were a bunch of other trees whose branches and bases were much easier to differentiate. This idea was burned into my brain at that moment.
What do you think of when you hear this saying? Do you use this saying? How do you use it? What do you associate it with? πŸ§πŸ™‡πŸΏβ€β™€οΈπŸ“šβœ¨

I sat on my Words of the Month for the beginning of 2026. Catching up! On to February.

Love became my word for February, but as I was putting this together, I decided to change it to Agape.

I love that there are different types of love. Thank God not all love is romantic. Agape Love is something that's talked about in the bible. This is where I was first introduced to it. What an amazing concept. What do you think of when you think of Agape Love? How have you conceptualized different types of love in the past. Have you felt or expressed Agape love before? Even though the month is through, please join me in taking a moment to explore this with me. πŸ§πŸ™‡πŸΏβ€β™€οΈπŸ“šβœ¨

I sat on my Words of the Month for the beginning of 2026. So, I'll catch up now, starting with January.
I love the word, Affirm (affirmation, affirming, affirmative). I'm totally fascinated with the different ways we use it, what it means to me, and what it has come to mean in our society. Even though we are out of January, join me in exploring this word a bit.
What do you think? πŸ§πŸ™‡πŸΏβ€β™€οΈπŸ“šβœ¨

What an amazing time this past week playing with my colleague, , along with the musicians of the πŸ™ŒπŸΏβœ¨πŸ’«
We played a program of mostly very French music (FaurΓ©, Poulenc, Ravel), and a brand new string piece by Malcolm Parsons. The program was heavy on the contra and second bassoon πŸ™ŒπŸΏβ€οΈπŸ‘ΆπŸΎπŸͺ΅
Wow, it was such a pleasure to work with for the first time! πŸ™ŒπŸΏπŸŒŸβš‘οΈ
Starting to really love these Nola venues. It was SUCH a treat to interact with the audience a ton at the New Marigny on the first night during intermission and after the show. πŸ˜„βœ¨πŸ™ŒπŸΏπŸ‘πŸΏ

Last concert of February!! So many great concerts this year so far, but I’ll talk about this one right now. Such a treat to get to play Enigma Variations (on the big baby this time πŸ‘ΆπŸΎπŸͺ΅) with this bassoon section and my colleagues last week βœ¨πŸ™ŒπŸΏπŸ‘πŸΏπŸ’«. Also wonderful to get to sit in the audience and listen to my colleagues during rehearsals. One of my favorite things to do when I can πŸ‘‚πŸΏβ€οΈ
