Adams Regional EMS is proud to announce our PA DOH-Approved Pre-Hospital Registered Nurse (PHRN) Course.

For every RN who has asked "What do I need to do to work in EMS?" This is your answer.

Course Details:
📋 PA DOH Approved — Course #1000062767
🗓 Start Date: July 30, 2026
📅 Schedule: Thursdays, 0800-1600 (one day per week) + 4 Saturdays for hands-on skills competency labs
⏱ 90 Educational Hours over ~14 weeks
💰 Tuition: $1,000
👥 Class Size: 6 minimum to run / 20 maximum

What's Included:
• Complete PHRN education covering airway management, pharmacology, cardiac care, trauma, and more
• Hazmat Awareness Certification
• PHTLS (Prehospital Trauma Life Support) Certification
• Hands-on skills labs with competency testing on Saturdays
• Preparation for the NREMT ALS Cognitive and BLS Psychomotor examinations

Prerequisites:
• Current PA RN License
• Current BLS/CPR & ACLS Certification
• Background Clearances
• Completed Application

After completing this course and passing the NREMT exams, you will be eligible for PA PHRN certification, allowing you to function as an ALS provider on an ambulance with skills that go beyond the paramedic scope.

Pennsylvania needs more PHRNs. Your clinical expertise belongs in the field.

The warmer temperatures and sunshine make it the perfect time for us at Adams Regional EMS to get outside and give our trucks a good wash. Keeping our ambulances clean and ready is just one of the many ways we make sure we’re always prepared to serve our community. 🚑🧼

There’s nothing better than fresh spring air, a little sunshine, and a clean fleet ready to respond when you need us.

From the moment a call comes in, they are the calm voice in chaos—gathering critical information, providing lifesaving instructions, and ensuring our crews get where they need to go safely and quickly.

Their ability to stay composed under pressure, coordinate resources, and support responders in the field is an essential part of every emergency response. We could not do what we do without them.

Traffic notice! Abbottstown and New Oxford

This evening around “dinner time” (i will update with a more accurate time when i have it) United Hook & Ladder Co 33 will be assisting Northeast Adams Fire & EMS bringing home fallen Firefighter/EMT Kevin Brehm to Feiser Funeral Home in New Oxford.

Their route of travel will be Route 30 west from York through Abbottstown, Cross Keys, and the New Oxford circle.

Feel free to line the procession route and pay your respects while we honor our fallen brother and assist our neighboring department in bringing home one of their own.

This morning our AREMS AEMT students took part in a Mass Casualty Incident (MCI) drill, practicing critical skills and learning how to respond effectively during high-stress emergencies. 🚑

Hands-on training like this helps prepare our students for the realities of the field.

A big thank you to the volunteers who stepped in to help make this scenario possible. We appreciate your support in helping train the next generation of EMS providers! 👏

Our thoughts and prayers are with Dover Area Ambulance Club, Northeast Adams Fire & EMS and Kevin’s family. May he rest in peace

DAAC is at a loss for words. It is with great regret we announce the passing of Kevin Brehm while he was on duty today. Our hearts are broken and we aren’t whole without him. DAAC lost a beloved member of our EMS family. Kevin Brehm we will miss you.

As funeral arrangements become available we will be passing them along. RIP Kevin!
