Our Brookside Residents recently celebrated Elvis Presley’s birthday with a day full of music and fun! They reminisced with timeless music, posed for festive photos, and even had the opportunity to savor his famous favorite treat - toasted peanut butter, banana, and bacon sandwiches.

We’re so fortunate to have so many talented Villagers in our community, and that they are always willing to share their talents with us! Last night, Villager Mike Matsinko wowed everyone with his incredible piano melodies, creating the perfect atmosphere for an amazing Jazz Night at the Campus Inn.

Today we celebrate Melanie, Staff Education Coordinator, for reaching an amazing milestone of 30 years of service! Fun fact: Melanie has taught over 700 New Employee Orientation (NEO) classes over her career, welcoming countless team members and helping them feel prepared and connected from day one. Melanie also teaches a variety of other classes across campus, even sharing her expertise with our Villagers too!

While her journey began with a twist – her original start date was postponed due to a blizzard – her career at CKV has been marked by genuine care, a passion for helping others succeed, and a lasting influence that continues to shape our team’s success. Thank you, Melanie, for all you do to help us learn and grow!

We have so many opportunities for our Villagers to stay active and continue learning new things! The CKV Ringers is just one stellar example. This talented handbell group just presented their winter concert and it was a joy to hear! There's something for everyone at Cross Keys Village!

As we settle into the icy temperatures of January, it's especially nice to be reminded of warmer, sunnier days. Brookside resident, Becky, helped us do just that by sharing a wonderful presentation on the history of Cape May. She also shared her favorite memories of the beach, which just happens to be her favorite vacation spot. Thank you, Becky, for giving us a brief escape to the beach and helping us look forward to warmer days ahead!

And it's a happy new year at Cross Keys Village! The Wellness Team went all-out for a mid-day new year ball drop! The sparkling juice was flowing for a celebratory toast, while friends gathered to ring in another year. With 2025 now behind us, we can't wait to see what 2026 brings!

Meet Jack, another amazing CKV resident! Jack recently delivered a collection of canned goods to the Hanover Food Bank, continuing a lifelong commitment to helping others. As a veteran, a former teacher, and an active member of his church, service has always been at the heart of who he is. This thoughtful gesture reminds us of the importance of community and showing up for one another. As we head into the new year, may we all be inspired by Jack's spirit of kindness and generosity.

Betty, one of our wonderful residents, recently had the chance to visit the beloved Train Room in Harmony Ridge, a place filled with memories of her late husband, John, one of the founding members of the Train Club. Not only did Betty reconnect with longtime friends and neighbors, but she also enjoyed seeing the new additions to the room and the cherished handcrafted displays John created years ago. One of the most touching moments was seeing the handcrafted carousel, a nod to their teamwork over the years. When crafting such displays, John built every tiny detail by hand, while Betty would add the finishing touches to the top. Married for over 20 years, their love and creativity continue to shine through these timeless pieces. We're grateful Betty could revisit such meaningful memories and share this special moment with us!

Today we’re proud to spotlight Erin (red shirt), a Registered Nurse on our Nursing Services team whose compassion and kindness shine in everything she does. This season, Erin organized a Christmas gift‑giving effort in collaboration with the SnackTown Mommas Facebook Group to bless our Healthcare Residents and together, they filled 90 stockings for Christmas! This heartfelt gesture brightened the season for so many, and we’re so thankful for the joy Erin and SnackTown Mommas helped create!
