In October of 2019 I moved into my first office. A new home, new colleagues, and overwhelming anxiety about having a practice i wasn't convinced I could survive from. Within 5 months I was asked to shut my doors because of the pandemic. I spent 3 months missing my room, missing my clients, but knowing this is where I belong. All I wanted was to do my work. Since coming back, my clients have tripled, I'm not supplementing income with any other jobs, and I have a confidence and determination inside of me that I didn't realize I could obtain. Today I said goodbye to my first room. I'm still in the same office, one less colleague, but sitting in my new room. Seeing how far I've come despite everything. I am so grateful. I am so proud.

For the last 2 months I've been seeing a client with nerve and spinal damage. Through cupping therapy, consistent appointment commitment, and constant communication she's being shown hope through her healing journey.

I love my career. I love that every day I can create a space for clients to use their time with me to improve themselves.

It's that time of year again! I leave tomorrow morning to work at the US Open for the second year in a row.

Today's intention: Beginnings and endings

Today marks 100 days since the stay in orders came into effect. This is a beautiful reminder that conclusions are inevitable.

I will officially be back in the office this week for services. The gift of coming back to work has been the same as the gift I received in having to stop. Pause. Peace. Every one of us needed to refocus ourselves and reevaluate. I'm so excited to come back to what I love and reconnect with my clients and my passion.

Today's intention: remember to breathe

Some things in life hurt. Our knees crack and pop, wrist start to feel stiff, and our heads feel too heavy. It's normal for these new additions to our body to begin to invoke anxiety. A spiralling can form; blaming our age, our jobs, past mistakes for less than perfect health. Try to find time to consider a new perspective. What you're doing now isn't working... Open yourself up to other possibilities. Breathe through your pain and anxiety. Connect to it and be aware that help is always present. Relief will come if you're consistent and allow it.

Today's intention: boundaries and knowing your limits

There is no reason for you to bend over backwards to try and make something work in your life. The best thing you can do for yourself is to know when to shift. Minor changes and adjustments go farther than you realize. Just try to remember that it's okay to let things go. When was the last time tension was the answer to relief?

Today's intention: reconnect and rest

As we begin to step into the weekend and approach day 50 of our stay at home orders I want to remind you that just because your life had slowed, doesn't mean you're truly resting. One of the most powerful and beautiful things about body work is that you have designated time to reconnect with yourself. Your aches, pains, thoughts, emotions, and the weight they all carry on you. Even though I don't have the freedom to help you create space to heal, I believe in you to try and find it inside of yourself. Spend this weekend trying to find a few minutes at a time to just be with yourself. You know when it's time to let go. To drop your shoulders, unclench your jaw, fold into yourself, or just close your eyes and breathe.

Today's Intention: check in, remember to breathe

It has been 34 days since March 13th, when "stay at home" orders started being given. Routines of work and school have shifted and our stress relief systems and coping mechanisms have lost most of their outlets. This will get better, eventually. We'll recover and heal and become stronger, knowing what we are capable of enduring. Walk away from whatever it is that's clenching your jaw and spend 5-15 minutes doing something that forces you to focus on your breathing. Preferably a stretch that also helps you alleviate the pain you have in your lower back and neck right now from all the stagnant time at home.
