Congratulations to Dr. Sarah Nosal, our Chief Medical Information Officer and Vice President for Innovation and Optimization, as she assumes the role of president of the AAFP!

We’re excited to announce that Sarah C. Nosal, MD, FAAFP, is the new president of the AAFP!

Dr. Nosal brings nearly two decades of experience caring for diverse and under-resourced communities in Bronx, New York. As Vice President for Innovation & Optimization and CMIO at The Institute for Family Health, she has been a leader in advancing telehealth, vaccination and health IT, all with a focus on equitable, patient-centered care.

“As a resident, I attended my first national AAFP governance meeting and saw firsthand how individuals could truly shape family medicine and the way we work with patients. From that moment, I knew that helping lead positive change in the AAFP, in family medicine and in the broader health care environment was where I needed to be. Serving as AAFP president is a continuation of that, and it’s an honor,” Nosal said.
