Each year, Woodland Pond celebrates Senior Living Week in honor of our amazing staff whose dedication, compassion, and teamwork bring extraordinary care and joy to our residents. 💚

We celebrate together — as a community, and as the Woodland Pond Family.

This year’s celebration was packed with fun, creativity, and appreciation, including:

🌸 🌻Blooming Now at Woodland Pond! 🌸💐

Our Alternatives to Grass Committee has been hard at work creating vibrant demonstration plots filled with native perennials and shrubs that not only add beauty to our campus but also support bees, birds, and other pollinators.

🌿 Plot 1: Full sun garden featuring Anise Hyssop, Wild Bergamot & Black-eyed Susan.

🌿 Plot 2: Full sun shrubs & grasses including Firefly Bush Honeysuckle & St. John’s Wort.

Today’s floral arrangement highlights blooms from Plots 1 & 2, bringing a little piece of our sustainable gardens indoors. 🌼🐝

Today we celebrated Woodland Pond residents Lola & Arthur on their 79th Anniversary ❤️

During lunch, our staff and residents surprised them with a serenade of “Let Me Call You Sweetheart,” to sing and honor this incredible milestone.

Lola and Arthur, your love is an inspiration to us all. Happy Anniversary! 💕🎶

🚣‍♀️🌊 What a splash! Several adventurous Woodland Pond residents took part in this year’s New Paltz Regatta, proudly sailing their homemade craft boats down the Wallkill River!

From colorful creations to clever designs, our crews brought imagination and spirit to the race — proving that fun, creativity, and community pride swell through the years!

We’re so proud of everyone who participated, cheered from the banks, or helped bring these floating masterpieces to life! 🛶💙

Yesterday, the Woodland Pond LGBTQIA+ & Allies Resident Interest Group hosted a truly unforgettable evening in our Performing Arts Center — “Queer Icons”, a vibrant performance by the Key of Q Hudson Valley a ca****la group!

Eighty residents waved rainbow flags and sang along to iconic hits by Cyndi Lauper, Elton John, Judy Garland, and ABBA. The energy was electric, the harmonies were stunning, and by the finale, the entire audience was cheering in celebration!

Huge thanks to everyone who helped make this event such a success as part of our Pride Month festivities! In a time when visibility and support matter more than ever, Woodland Pond is proud to stand with our LGBTQ+ community. 🏳️‍🌈

Woodland Pond has achieved the 2025 High Performer ranking for being a safe, inclusive and welcoming retirement community for LGBTQ+ individuals, visitors, and staff.

The Long-Term Care Equality Index (LEI), a national benchmarking tool and roadmap for U.S. senior housing communities to support efforts of LGBTQ+ inclusion of residents, visitors, and staff, is administered by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation and SAGE.

This year, 274 senior housing communities across 33 states participated in the LEI. In 2018, Woodland Pond was the nation’s first CCRC to be named a leader in LGBTQ Equality by the Human Rights Campaign.

As part of our Earth Week celebration, several dedicated Woodland Pond residents and staff volunteers rolled up their sleeves for an Adopt-a-Highway cleanup along our designated stretch of Route 299. Thank you to all who helped keep our community and planet beautiful!🌏✨

The Woodland Hikers ventured off again! This time to Scenic Hudson's Black Creek Preserve in Esopus. What a great day filled with fresh air, forested trails and beautiful views along the Hudson River. 🥾🌳

What?!?! Woodland Pond’s SusComm (Sustainability Committee) is so excited to have sourced our first huge shipment of bamboo toilet paper for our residents to obtain from us at our wholesale cost. A win for the 🌳! A win for the 💵! And a win for the sewer pump expellers… yup: this is less harsh on a the sewer infrastructure than traditional toilet paper.

And the jury is back! The feel and cleanliness is🧑‍🍳 😚!
