We are pleased to share our annual Social and Economic Contributions Report for 2025 with our followers. This is a report we began maintaining in 2016, as part of our framework of accountability. We committed to being a beneficial partner to the larger community when we received approval almost 20 years ago, and we are more than happy to share how well we are doing compared to that commitment. Last week, our Woodland Pond team gathered for a Cozy Cabin–themed Holiday Staff Party, and it was the perfect way to celebrate the season together! ❄️🏔️

A heartfelt thank-you to our residents who volunteered to help serve — your kindness makes celebrations like this even more meaningful. ❤️

We’re also grateful for our staff who planned and brought the theme to life, and to our Dining team for the amazing food enjoyed by all.

And a big shoutout to all of the vendors who generously donated gifts for our raffles — your support helped make the day extra festive and fun.

It was a truly special day celebrating the incredible community we share at Woodland Pond! ✨

Woodland Pond at New Paltz has recieved national recognition by Newsweek, as one of America’s Best Continuing Care Retirement Communities for 2026, earning a spot among the top CCRCs in the nation and ranking #3 in New York State!

This recognition, developed in partnership with global research firm Statista, evaluated nearly 1,900 communities nationwide and reflects excellence in reputation, resident and visitor satisfaction, accreditation, and online reviews.

We are deeply grateful to our incredible residents and staff, whose passion, engagement, and dedication make Woodland Pond such a special place to live and work. This honor belongs to all of you.

On this day of gratitude, we’re especially thankful for the wonderful community we share — our residents, staff, families, and friends who fill Woodland Pond with purpose, joy, and connection.

We also take a quiet moment to honor and remember those who are no longer with us. Their spirit, their stories, and the memories they’ve left behind continue to live warmly in our hearts and throughout our community.

✨On November 17th, we proudly broke ground on Woodland Pond’s new state-of-the-art Performing Arts Center — a very exciting milestone for our community!

This project is made possible in part thanks to the generous support of our Capital Campaign, and we extend our heartfelt appreciation to our residents, staff, board members, families, and the greater New Paltz community for contributing to this vision.

Our residents had a wonderful time “breaking the ground” and shoveling the first scoops of dirt, making the moment even more memorable and full of excitement!

We also want to recognize and thank the professionals who helped bring this expansion to life! Your expertise and partnership are invaluable.

We can’t wait to watch this new space take shape — and to see the creativity, performances, and shared experiences it will inspire for years to come.

🌟 ‘Tis the Season for Giving! 🌟

Our 10-day Food Drive for Family of New Paltz was an incredible success! Thanks to the generosity of our residents and staff, we collected $8,065 in cash donations, 20 boxes of food, and numerous store gift cards to support families in need throughout our community.

Family of New Paltz Director, Ivan Echenique, and Assistant Director, Icilma Lewis, expressed their deep gratitude for Woodland Pond’s continued partnership. For the past 16 years, our community has proudly supported their mission through food, clothing, and financial donations — and this year’s drive is yet another example of how compassion thrives here at Woodland Pond.

✨On Sunday, November 16, we hosted an incredible Murder Mystery Dinner presented by the Acme Mystery Company of the Hudson Valley — complete with a time-travel twist! Residents teamed up to unravel clues, crack codes, and solve the mystery together.

Our dining team brought the theme to life with an elevated three-course “Past, Present, Future” menu, with each dish inspired by a different moment in time. The creativity, flavor, and presentation made the experience even more immersive.

With 60 attendees, the evening was filled with laughter, intrigue, teamwork, and unforgettable food. It was a huge success and truly a night to remember!

This was our first immersive dining event — but it certainly won’t be our last! 🚀🕰️🍽️

🇺🇸 This week, we proudly celebrated our residents and staff who have served our country with honor. On Tuesday, we hosted our annual Veterans Recognition Breakfast—a warm “Thank you, Vets” pancake breakfast followed by a meaningful ceremony, including a reading of the Veterans Roll Call by our President & CEO, Michelle Gramoglia.

Then on Thursday, we wrapped up the week with a USO Variety Show that was an absolute hit! From magic acts to performances from The Dulcimers and The Woodlanders, singing, guitar playing, and more—everyone had a fantastic time celebrating together.

To all who have served: we honor you, we thank you, and we celebrate you. 🇺🇸❤️
