The Tuscarawas County Health Department will be facilitating a free, virtual training, Responding to Addiction, on Friday, February 27th from 9am-11am. The training was developed by the Addiction Policy Forum and could be considered an entry level training. Participants will learn signs and symptoms of addiction, evidence-based treatment options, recovery support, and engagement strategies.

All participants will have the opportunity to receive a free naloxone (Narcan) kit. Class size is limited to 25 participants. Participants will receive a meeting link to the email that was used to register for the event when the training date is closer!

Artists of all ages needed! Construction at the Tuscarawas County Health Department (TCHD) building is nearly complete, and TCHD officials are inviting artists to submit their original artwork to help decorate the office walls.

Artists of all ages are welcome to participate by submitting their original framed art, or canvas art, of any size by 4 pm on Friday, February 27th. High quality prints of original artwork will also be considered. Preference will be given to art that focuses on public health or the Tuscarawas County community, and submissions must be made in person at TCHD, 897 East Iron Avenue, Dover. All contest winners will be recognized and have their artwork displayed at TCHD.

All artwork submitted to the TCHD Art Competition will become the property of TCHD. Those with questions are invited to call 330-343-5555, ext. 1700. (Framed original photographs are welcome. Artists may submit more than one piece for consideration.)
