If you know a wonderful clinician who is looking to join a group practice, share this with them!
ISO Children, Teen, & Family Focused Therapist who is looking for a 1099 position in New Port Richey. Must be licensed!

Ideal fit is a neurodivergent-affirming counselor who wants to focus in the areas above. Someone who specializes or incorporates art or play therapy would be great.

We will offer full administrative support (including EHR, marketing, advertising, assistance with scheduling and general client communication, peer support, work email, and a great work environment).

We're offering a 60% split with the possibility of increasing after 6 months, if open to a supervisory position as our practice grows.

Caseload expectation is 21-30 clients a week. We also know this takes time to build and we anticipate a growth spurt for this in September.

Must be OK joining platforms like Headway to panel with insurance.

Existential Psychotherapy, rather than treating symptoms, helps you confront fundamental human challenges to live more authentically and purposefully.

From this perspective, psychological distress stems from struggling with four inevitable facts of existence:

Death: Grappling with mortality and the limits of your time.

Freedom and Responsibility: Accepting that you are the author of your own life and choices, which can bring anxiety.

Isolation: Recognizing that ultimately, no one can fully know another person's subjective experience.

Meaninglessness: Searching for purpose in a chaotic, often indifferent universe.
Kelvin Rivera is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor who focuses on working with neurodivergent adults and couples who are seeking to explore themselves at a deeper level.

In-network with most commercial insurances including AmBetter, Aetna, BlueCross BlueShield, Cigna, United Healthcare, Oscar, and more.

Virtual and in-person (New Port Richey) sessions available.

Anxiety sometimes presents as task avoidance and overplanning.

Here are 3 ways you can start interrupting the pattern:

1. Get moving

Even if you're just pacing, try not to dwell in the to-do list or trying to plan all its details.

2. Done is better than perfect

Step away from "all or nothing" thinking and break the task into ridiculously small ones (ex. don't say "clean the house," pick a small area and take the trash out).

3. Move the needle.

Adulting may feel like an ever-ending to-do list that piles on new things just as you're about to cross one item off...

When trying to contemplate progress, focus on the process and celebrate the actions you took (not criticizing yourself for what you missed).

In therapy, we often practice befriending Fear.

Changing how we relate to our emotions, not forcing them to change.

We can see emotions as waves and acknowledge what they’re trying to tell us, honoring the parts of us that are trying to protect us.

"I do not have all the answers, and I cannot control everything."

Actively fighting, denying, or burying an unwanted emotion, thought, or trait feeds it more energy, causing it to grow stronger and control your life from the background.

Trying desperately not to think about a painful memory or anxiety forces your brain to constantly scan for it, keeping that exact pain at the center of your awareness.

When you push down parts of yourself you dislike (like anger, grief, or fear), they fester and eventually erupt as panic attacks, sudden outbursts, or physical exhaustion.

That resistance keeps your body in a chronic state of high alert.

Therapy helps you transform those patterns as you become more tolerant with the discomfort of facing those existential fears.
Kelvin Rivera, Licensed Mental Health Counselor, works with adults who are neurodivergent, grieving, experiencing a big life transition, or have a history of Complex Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (CPTSD) stemming from repeated, long-term trauma where escape is difficult or impossible (such as ongoing childhood neglect or chronic abuse).

He's a warm, relatable counselor who enjoys geeky talks about anime, gaming, and philosophy.
