When the body's immune system attacks the thyroid it is called Hashimoto's autoimmune disease. There is a test that measures the antibodies that are attacking the thyroid. This is useful to confirm the problem. If not addressed the thyroid can get weaker and weaker. Parasites are a lot bigger problem in Florida than most people realize!
Very warm temperatures, casual water from rains and hurricanes, and improper handling and cooking of meats and fish all contribute to the problem.

In 1900, the Samuel Hahnemann became the first foreigner not involved with the American Revolution to have a monument dedicated to him in our nation’s Capital. He was a German physician who founded Homeopathy over 200 years ago. After receiving his medical degree in 1779, he practiced orthodox medicine for five years until he grew disillusioned with the dangerous medical practices at the time, which included bloodletting and ingesting mercury, and decided to focus on a profession in translating books and investigating medicine. While translating a treatise on medicine he noticed that the success of an effective treatment of malaria, the bark of a Peruvian tree, was attributed to the fact that it contracted skin cells. However, he found it odd that other substances which also contracted skin cells did not have the same effect on malaria. Taking a dose of this bark, he discovered that its effects were similar to that of malaria itself. From this research, he hypothesized "that which can produce a set of symptoms in a healthy individual, can treat a sick individual who is manifesting a similar set of symptoms," or more simply put: “Like cures like.” Using this method he developed treatments for a wide range of illnesses and was able to help many people. Thanks to Hahnemann’s breakthroughs, now over 6 million people use Homeopathy in the USA today, while over 200 million people use it worldwide.
