Ear pain isn’t always caused by the ear itself—issues with the jaw or neck can also trigger that discomfort.

Children are especially prone to ear pain from infections because their eustachian tubes aren’t fully developed.

👉 See a doctor if ear pain is severe or getting worse, lasts more than a day, or comes with symptoms like hearing loss, dizziness, or drainage.

The Children's Hearing Aid Program (CHAP) provides assistance in obtaining hearing aids and other hearing technologies for children residing in Florida aged 0-18 who do not have private insurance or have insurance that does not cover hearing technologies.

It's Diabetes Awareness Month, a good time to remind us that hearing loss is twice as common among those with the condition, and 30 percent more common among those with prediabetes.

Why? The CDC says, "Over time, high blood sugar levels can damage small blood vessels and nerves in the inner ear. Low blood sugar over time can damage how nerve signals travel from the inner ear to your brain. Both types of nerve damage can lead to hearing loss."

Our Literacy Program Continues! 📚

Our program gives opportunities for volunteers to read to the many Day Care and Pre-K Groups we regularly visits to provide hearing screenings for the children. On Wednesday, November 12th, Senator Danny Burgess will be our Reading Champion.

Senator Burgess will read "Pete the Cat Crayons Rock!" to children at Brain Builders Preschool in Zephryhills.
