They’re on the sidelines, in the weight room, and always in your corner.

Our incredible athletic trainers support student-athletes every step of the way!

Kyle Ruhde and Teresa Buss, athletic trainers at Westfields Hospital & Clinic, partner closely with TRIA Orthopedics and spend much of their time at local high schools and in the community. Their work spans injury prevention, on-site care and recovery support, often serving as the first point of contact for injured athletes.

“The kids, parents and coaches are very appreciative of us being there,” says Teresa. “For a lot of the student-athletes, we're the first medical provider they go talk to when they're injured. We really encourage kids to see us as soon as possible to ensure a mild injury doesn't turn into something more serious or long term."

Our sports medicine doctors, physical therapists, athletic trainers and other experts work together as a team to achieve a common goal – safely getting you back to physical activity as quickly as possible.

Go green! We’re winning awards for making health care sustainable at Westfields Hospital & Clinic.

We recently earned a Greenhealth Emerald award from Practice Greenhealth, the nation’s leading organization dedicated to environmental stewardship in health care. This recognition honors the top 20 percent of organizations that have shown commitment to improving environmental performance and advancing sustainable practices. We also won a Circle of Excellence award in Waste, which recognizes work we’ve done on our campus to create a cleaner, healthier environment.

“As one of the largest health care organizations in the region, we recognize that environmental stewardship is essential to our mission of improving health,” said Andrea Walsh, president and CEO of HealthPartners. “This recognition reflects our deep commitment to sustainability and the meaningful progress our teams are making to protect the health of future generations.”

It's our honor to introduce our newest rural residency graduates!

Drs. Michal Budziakowski, Jake LaMirande and Tyler Weyer recently completed their final year of training at the Western Wisconsin Rural Family Medicine Residency program.

The rural residency program was launched in 2017 with the goal of reducing physician shortages and closing the gap in rural health care. These doctors have already had an important impact on our community, and they’re just getting started!

Congrats to our grads!

Quick gut check: Are you due for a colonoscopy?

If you’re over 45, there’s a good chance the answer is yes. The same is true if you’re under 45 with a family history of polyps or colon cancer.

Dr. Dharma Sunjaya, a gastroenterologist at Hudson Hospital & Clinic, knows just how important these screenings can be.

“Colonoscopies are generally considered the gold standard,” he says. “Essentially, it provides a directive visualization of the colon to identify polyps and remove them before they develop into cancer. Preventing colon cancer is how colonoscopies can save lives.”

The Star-Observer recently visited our clinic and spoke with Dr. Sunjaya about the importance of colonoscopies: https://bit.ly/3ZZxwvk
