Julie likes to say that she stumbled her way into becoming a yoga teacher through the school of life. She started taking yoga classes the way many of us in the west do - at the gym as another type of “workout.” But it didn’t take her long to realize that there was so much more to it than just a really good workout. That glimmer of peace she felt in those hour-long yoga clas

ses at the YMCA kept her coming back for years. She decided to deep-dive into yoga teacher training initially as a way of immersing herself in the practice and learning as much about it as possible to help heal her broken heart. And she soon learned that she loved teaching just as much as practicing! She is passionate about sharing yoga with everyone to help them also heal mind, body, and spirit, and she has a soft spot for teaching those struggling to overcome grief and addiction.

My husband and I came across this stream on our adventures up on the north shore in MN yesterday, and I had to pause and just listen.

There’s just something magical about the sound of running water. To me, it feels like, for a moment, it can wash away the yucky stuff I am carrying around inside.

I hope that wherever you are and whatever you are doing, you can take a moment to pause, listen, and just be. 💖✨

Mornings feel sacred to me. 🤍

I love listening as the world slowly wakes up…
the birds singing, the quiet hum of people beginning their day.

My mornings begin right here, on my mat.
Breathing. Moving.
Taking a few moments to simply be… with nowhere to go and nothing to do.

In a world that moves so quickly, these quiet moments feel like an anchor.
A chance to ground, to soften, to come back to myself.

Mother Nature teaches us that you never know what each day is going to hold. Some days you will wake up to 80 degrees and sunshine, other days to 30 degrees and snow (and if you live in the upper Midwest in April - it might be in the span of two days! 🤪)

As I sit here this morning reflecting, it made me think about how much that echoes our lives. Some days you wake up raring to go, feeling like you can conquer the world - other days can feel like just getting out of bed is a challenge.

Our yoga practice teaches us to hold space for it all. To listen to the rhythms of nature and to feel them reflected in our bodies.

To move through the world with kindness and compassion, and especially to reflect it back onto ourselves.
