Willow River Yoga Breathe. Move. Heal. Discover YOUR Yoga Practice with Julie, RYT
200. Then when tragedy struck her life unexpectedly, the practice of yoga became her lifeline.

Julie Domres, RYT-200

Julie likes to say that she stumbled her way into becoming a yoga teacher through the school of life. She started taking yoga classes the way many of us in the west do - at the gym as another type of “workout.” But it didn’t take her long to realize that there was so much more to it than just a really good workout. That glimmer of peace she felt in those hour-long yoga classes at the YMCA kept her coming back for years. She decided to deep-dive into yoga teacher training initially as a way of immersing herself in the practice and learning as much about it as possible to help heal her broken heart. And she soon learned that she loved teaching just as much as practicing! She is passionate about sharing yoga with everyone to help them also heal mind, body, and spirit, and she has a soft spot for teaching those struggling to overcome grief and addiction.

Feeling a little fancy today… put on some big girl clothes to go to the New Richmond Chamber of Commerce’s monthly coffee this morning!

I’ve been enjoying the hidden benefits of working from home…. like existing in yoga pants and comfy clothes! 😆

Just registered for a new training and I couldn’t be more excited!!

The Sacred Column with Judith Hanson Lasater — a beautiful opportunity to deepen my practice and teaching, and to learn from someone so respected in the yoga community.

I truly believe we’re always students… always evolving, always expanding.

This feels like a natural next step — and I can’t wait to integrate what I learn into the spaces I hold and share it with you. ✨

There’s something really special that happens when women gather in a space like this… 🌿

The exhale.
The softening.
The feeling of being held—without needing to be anything other than exactly who you are.

These photos are from our last retreat, and they capture just a glimpse of what unfolds when we slow down, move, breathe, and receive together.

And now… we get to do it again. 🌸

The Sacred Bloom Experience is our spring offering—Maria and I have planned a full-day retreat devoted to nurturing what you’ve planted and allowing space for what’s ready to bloom.

✨ Gentle, accessible yoga
🌿 A slow, intentional nature walk
🔔 Immersive sound + energy healing
🌸 A creative Flower Bar ritual
🥣 A soul-nourishing lunch

If you’ve been craving a reset…
A day to reconnect…
A space to simply be…

This is for you.

Come tend. Come nurture.
Come bloom with us. 🌺

Receive the breath.
Receive the weight of your body.
Receive this moment.

So often, we move through our days trying to get somewhere… fix something… become something.

But what if, just for a moment, you allowed yourself to simply be?

To soften.
To let go.
To rest.

This is your gentle reminder today — you don’t have to earn your rest!

A little bit of me.

Yoga didn’t come into my life as a plan…
it came as a lifeline.

What started as a place to breathe and survive
became a way to heal, reconnect, and come home to myself.

This is the heart behind the spaces I hold. ✨

Hi friends! I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself. 🤍

I’m Julie — a yoga teacher, floral designer, recovering alcoholic, former shopaholic and people pleaser, wife, friend, and momma to two grown boys — one here on earth and one in heaven.

At my core, I’m someone who deeply believes in living with intention, connection, and from the heart.

My path to becoming a yoga teacher was shaped by profound loss. After my oldest son, Danny, passed away unexpectedly, I found myself lost and broken — numb and holding on by a thread.

Over time, I began to notice that the only place I felt even a moment of peace was when I went to a yoga class. I didn’t fully understand what I was experiencing, but I knew I needed more of it.

What I didn’t realize then was that I had found a way to move through my grief that felt grounding, gentle, and supportive. Yoga gave me a way to breathe when it felt hard to breathe…
to feel when it felt overwhelming to feel…
and to slowly reconnect with myself and the world around me.

What began as a personal refuge grew into a calling to share this practice with others — especially for those navigating life’s more tender seasons. For me, yoga is less about poses and more about coming home to yourself — your breath, your body, your inner wisdom, and your capacity to heal.

I am a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-200), and I love weaving together movement, mindfulness, nature, and gentle reflection in the spaces I hold.

You’ll often find me outside soaking up fresh air, arranging flowers in my studio, or spending time with the people I love most.

Yoga, for me, is truly a way of life — and it is my heart’s work to share it with you.

Thank you for being here and following along on this journey.
And stay tuned… I have some fun new offerings and events coming soon! 😊

Tonight’s Full Moon — the Pink Moon 🌕

The first full moon of spring.

Can you feel the shift?

There’s a quiet awakening happening…
Not loud or dramatic — but subtle.
A soft stirring beneath the surface.

A little more energy.
A pull to be outside.
A sense that something in you is ready to begin again.

Full moons bring illumination — they help us see more clearly.
And this one shines a light on what is just beginning.

Not what needs to be forced.
Not what needs to be figured out.
Just… what is gently waking up within you.

This season holds a slower, tender pace.
New growth doesn’t rush — it unfolds.

Tonight is an invitation to pause.
To notice.
To listen.

What feels like it’s beginning to awaken in you right now?

You don’t need a plan.
You don’t need to know where it’s going.

Just bring your awareness to it.
And begin, gently, to tend to it. ✨

Spending some time this afternoon soaking up some sun with Janie the Ninja Kitty. We are reading “The Art of Communicating” by Thich Nhat Hahn, and Janie has some very insightful feedback for me! 😆

What else is there to do on a 70 degree afternoon in Western WI in March? (Especially when there is snow in the forecast later in the week!)

What are you doing today to fill your cup? ☀️💖

"I don’t have to chase extraordinary moments to find happiness - it’s right in front of me if I’m paying attention and practicing gratitude."
- Brene Brown

Wow, did this quote hit me right up side the head! I didn’t realize how much I was missing by always chasing what felt “extraordinary.”

The quiet moments.
The simple joys.
The everyday beauty.

It turns out… that’s where life is actually happening. Lately, I’ve been practicing slowing down, paying attention, and letting gratitude meet me right here — in the middle of the ordinary.

I’d love to hear—what’s something small you’ve noticed lately that brought you joy? ✨💫
