Julie likes to say that she stumbled her way into becoming a yoga teacher through the school of life. She started taking yoga classes the way many of us in the west do - at the gym as another type of “workout.” But it didn’t take her long to realize that there was so much more to it than just a really good workout. That glimmer of peace she felt in those hour-long yoga classes at the YMCA kept her coming back for years. She decided to deep-dive into yoga teacher training initially as a way of immersing herself in the practice and learning as much about it as possible to help heal her broken heart. And she soon learned that she loved teaching just as much as practicing! She is passionate about sharing yoga with everyone to help them also heal mind, body, and spirit, and she has a soft spot for teaching those struggling to overcome grief and addiction.

The storm clouds rolled in last night, heavy and dramatic, yet they passed us by with only a sprinkle of rain. As I stood there watching the sky shift and swirl, I was reminded of how life’s storms can be the same — sometimes they move right through us, and sometimes they just brush past.

In yoga, we practice being present for it all. The quiet moments, the storms, the in-between. Standing still, noticing without needing to change anything, and allowing ourselves to simply be with what is. 🌙🌧️✨

May we carry that same presence into our daily lives — pausing to see the beauty in the fleeting moments, even when they come and go as quickly as a summer storm.

🌞 Honoring the Summer Solstice | A Time of Light, Growth, and Gratitude 🌞

Today we welcome the Summer Solstice — the longest day and shortest night of the year in the Northern Hemisphere.

The word solstice comes from the Latin solstitium, meaning “sun stands still.” Ancient cultures around the world — from the Druids at Stonehenge to Indigenous and agricultural communities — celebrated this day as a sacred turning point. It’s a moment when the sun reaches its peak power, and we are reminded of the light within and around us.

The Summer Solstice marks a time of abundance, fertility, and full bloom — both in nature and in our personal lives. It’s a powerful moment to pause, reflect, and align with what we’re growing and what we’re ready to harvest.

🌸 How to Work With This Energy:
✨ Reflect on what you’ve planted (in your heart, life, or work) since the Spring Equinox — what’s blooming?
✨ Set intentions for the second half of the year.
✨ Soak in the sun’s energy (safely!) — let it fill you with vitality.
✨ Practice gratitude for all that is flourishing in your life.
