"Halloween" is definitely candy ...and lots of it. This is basically the only time of year when we're surrounded by our favorite childhood indulgences — Kit Kats, candy corn, Jolly Ranchers — all day and night. But, as we're sure you've heard a thousand times, overloading on candy one day almost always means nursing a few pimples the next. Candy consists of tons of simple carbohydrates, which are pro-inflammatory, and that's not good for your skin.

The Solution...If you wake up the next morning with a few candy-induced pimples, set your sights on spot-treating the problem. Acne flares can be treated with over-the-counter products that contain the correct ingredients, such as Benzoyl peroxyde or Salicylic acid (avoid this last one if you’re allergic to aspirin!!). You may also use a gentle cleanser to avoid irritation and a vitamin C serum that will work as an antioxidant to balance back your skin from free radicals caused by the candy, the makeup and any pollutants.

We know you want the smoothest skin possible for your extreme Halloween makeup application, but don't go overboard. You don't want to steam or exfoliate before your makeup. The reason is that when you exfoliate, yes, you strip out dead skin cells, bringing newer cells to the surface. But when we apply heavy makeup on top, we may trap dirt, oil, and bacteria underneath the makeup and into your pores, running the chance of not being completely removed when your festivity is over and you remove your makeup. Also, you might irritate your skin with excessive rubbing as you try to remove your all your makeup. As a result, irritation and breakouts may result from these actions. When you know you are applying heavy makeup its best to leave these treatments for after, as the layer of dead skin cells will act as a barrier to protect your skin.

Hello fam! With just a few days away for Halloween, I’m pretty sure many of you have been preparing for your best act. Most definitely, many of you will be experimenting with cool makeup. Now, it’s inevitable to think that your skin will be affected. So in the next few days I’ll be giving you some hints on how to “treat” and not “trick” your skin while you have fun with your Halloween makeup.

PREP YOUR SKIN
Before starting your total makeup transformation, use a gentle cleanser to remove any oils from your skin. Then prep your skin with a light, non-silicone-based primer.
If you are using lower-quality makeup products that might be irritating (glitter can sometimes be an irritant, or using prosthetics, you might want to consider prepping skin with a professional-grade barrier cream.
The difference between this and regular primer is that this is actually sealing off your skin, so that the makeup you put on top of it can't be absorbed.

This safe and painless facial helps diminish fine lines and wrinkles, while firming your skin and defining your features. It improves muscle tone, reduces puffiness, increases cellular activity, and tightens pores. The overall result is a healthier and younger looking skin, no matter your age. Papaya...🎶 (picture me dancing to the beat of and )
Enzymes in fruits such as papaya can help the skin look smooth, bright, and youthful. Papayas contain an enzyme called papain, which helps loosen and breakdown dead skin cells on the surface of the skin, resulting in righter and more uniform skin tone, firmer skin, and even clear pores. Furthermore, papaya is also rich in vitamins and antioxidants.

ROSACEA SKIN CARE TIP 101: Simplify your skin care routine. Skin care plays an important role in keeping rosacea under control, as many skin care products are too harsh for people with rosacea. When shopping for skin care products, look for mild, gentle formulas made for sensitive skin. Avoid any skin care products that contain menthol, camphor, sodium lauryl sulfate and alcohol, as these can trigger flare-ups. Products that contain retinoids can irritate your skin and may need to be avoided or used less frequently. In addition, be gentle to your skin and do not rub, scrub or aggressively massage your face.

The skin is the fastest growing organ and it is constantly renewing itself by a process called “Cell Turnover “. New skin cells are made in the Stratum Germinativum or Stratum Basale, A.K.A. basal layer, of the epidermis. As these cells reproduce and mature, they move upwards through each other layer of the epidermis until they reach out to the surface where they have become old, dead, flat, hardened (keratinized) and they shed. This complete process takes about 28 days. However, Cell Turnover slows as we age, resulting in dry, rough skin, dull complexion, wrinkles, and slower recovery time from injuries.
Treatments (such as facials, dermaplaning, microdermabrasion), as well as exfoliating products (such as AHAs, BHAs, and retinol) help to speed up Cell Turnover by mechanically and/or chemically removing layers of old, dead, hardened skin cells off the epidermis, allowing the resurfacing of newer, younger looking cells.
