CR is a Christ-centered, 12-step program offering healing from "hurts, habits, and hang-ups" (addictions, abuse, codependency, etc.) by combining biblical principles (the Beatitudes) with recovery steps, fostering a safe, anonymous community where people find freedom through faith in Jesus Christ and support from others. It's a church-based ministry that provides weekly meetings with large group teachings/testimonies and smaller, gender-specific sharing groups, emphasizing spiritual surrender, personal responsibility, and selfless service.
