Survivor Therapy Camp is a program that focuses on treating the emotional and behavioral issues teens are dealing with using survival/outdoor training and activities. The counseling will focus on a wide variety of mental health issues teenagers commonly face, such as ADHD, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, conduct disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, etc. Each survivor will receive a personalized treatment plan focused on their specific needs and goals. The camp will also focus on learning social skills through team building exercises and outdoor/survival skills training. Survivors will be taught skills such as navigation, boat training, fishing, campsite set up and break down, fire building, cleaning fish, campsite cooking, etc. Survivors will gain team building skills by participating in a survivor competition. Competition exercises will take place daily. Teams will consist of 2 survivors (1 middle school, 1 high school). At the end of the week, the total scores for each team will be added up and an award ceremony will take place on the last day of camp. Survivors will attend camp from 8:30AM to 6:00PM the first 3 days. The last 2 days of the camp will include an overnight camping trip leaving at 8:30AM on day 4 and returning day 5. The camp will end with an awards ceremony and lunch after returning from the camping trip.
