When your athlete ends up as the poster girl for the local Girlz On Fire race 👑😍💪🏼

Jill looks incredibly strong and photogenic in this moment—but just 10 minutes later, things took a serious turn. She experienced an episode of SIPE (swimming-induced pulmonary edema), a condition that can be life-threatening and is still not fully understood by researchers.

Thankfully, we recognized the warning signs right away and got her to the hospital without delay. Jill is okay—but this is a powerful reminder of how important awareness is. The more coaches, race directors, and first responders know about SIPE, the more lives we can protect.
