As we conclude National Police Week, we also want to recognize the incredible work of Concerns of Police Survivors (C.O.P.S.) and the unwavering support they provide to families and coworkers of fallen officers.

Through retreats, kids camps, peer support, and survivor programs, C.O.P.S. helps those affected by line of duty deaths find connection, healing, and hope while reminding them they are never alone in their journey.

The influence C.O.P.S. has on surviving families and agencies across the country is truly immeasurable, and their dedication to honoring the fallen while supporting those left behind is nothing short of amazing.

As this week comes to a close, we continue to remember the fallen, support the survivors, and honor the strength of the law enforcement community.

Today, on National Peace Officers Memorial Day, we pause to honor the brave law enforcement officers who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to their communities.

Behind every badge is a person who answered the call to protect others, often at great personal cost. Today is a reminder that their courage, dedication, and sacrifice will never be forgotten.

We also stand beside the families, friends, coworkers, and agencies who continue to carry the weight of that loss every day. Their loved ones’ legacies live on through the lives they touched and the communities they served.

Today, we remember the fallen. We honor their service. We thank those who continue to serve.

As National Police Week continues, we would like to share a few words from Melissa Raynor Russo, sister and friend to two of our local heroes being remembered this week for their service, sacrifice, and lasting legacy.

Melissa shares: I want to take a moment to thank every law enforcement officer, past and present, who has sacrificed and continues to sacrifice on so many levels for their communities. From those who made the ultimate sacrifice, to the unseen battles with mental health, long hours, missed moments with family, and the uncertainty that comes with every shift, your service does not go unnoticed.

While departments or systems may not acknowledge the weight you carry, or even honor those who paid the ultimate sacrifice, we as a community stand behind all of you. We see the dedication, the courage, and the humanity behind the badge. Thank you for standing in difficult moments, for protecting others before yourselves, and for continuing to serve despite the challenges. And to those who are no longer with us, thank you just isn’t enough. Your names and memories will never be forgotten.

Your sacrifices matter, and they are appreciated more than words can express.
Forever in our hearts 🖤💙Jason Raynor 3C77, Patrick Erlandson 3C57

One of the most meaningful moments of National Police Week is the Candlelight Vigil held at the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in Washington, D.C.

As thousands gather together in silence, each candle represents a life lost in the line of duty, officers who left behind families, friends, coworkers, and communities forever changed by their sacrifice. The reading of the names serves as a powerful reminder that these are not just numbers or headlines, but real people who dedicated their lives to protecting others.

For surviving families and fellow officers, the vigil is a time of remembrance, honor, and unity. It is a moment to grieve together, stand together, and ensure that the fallen are never forgotten.

Today, we remember their courage, their service, and the legacies they leave behind.

During National Police Week, thousands gather in Washington, D.C. to honor the officers who made the ultimate sacrifice and one of the most powerful traditions is the Police Unity Tour.

The Police Unity Tour is a long-distance bicycle ride made up of law enforcement officers and supporters from across the country who ride hundreds of miles to raise awareness and ensure that the fallen are never forgotten. What began with a small group of riders has grown into a national movement of remembrance, honor, and support for surviving families.

As the riders arrive at the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial, they carry with them the names, stories, and legacies of those who gave their lives in service to others.

This week, we remember the fallen, support the survivors, and honor those who continue to serve with courage every day.

During National Police Week, we also honor the courageous K9 officers who served faithfully alongside their handlers and made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.

These loyal partners protected our communities with unwavering bravery, dedication, and heart. Today, we remember and honor their service and the handlers who continue to carry their memory forward.

This week, we pause to honor the courageous law enforcement officers who gave their lives in service to others and to recognize the loved ones, friends, and fellow officers who continue to carry their memory with strength and pride.

National Police Week began in 1962 when President John F. Kennedy proclaimed May 15 as Peace Officers’ Memorial Day. Since then, the week containing May 15 has been dedicated to remembering those who made the ultimate sacrifice and expressing gratitude to those who continue to serve our communities every day.

We honor the fallen, support the surviving families and agencies, and stand behind those who wear the badge today.

When you think of healthcare, a thousand different images probably come to mind. Moments of relief. Moments of fear. Gratitude. Frustration. Maybe even exhaustion just thinking about it. In today's world of healthcare, all of that can be true at once.
We often define healthcare by the moments when we need it most. When we're sitting in waiting rooms, hearing diagnoses, holding our breath for results, or thanking someone who helped us through something hard.
But what about the people who don't just visit healthcare, they live it, day in and day out.
What would they say if we asked?
Many would tell you there are stories they hold that never make it past the walls of the healthcare setting. Some are too sacred to speak out loud. Some too painful to unpack after a long shift.
There are moments that don't get posted, documented, or debriefed. They just get carried.
And yet, they still come back.
Back to the beeping monitors, the hard conversations, the small wins that no one else sees. Back to showing up for people at their most vulnerable, even when they're running on empty themselves.
And to the nurses in that world, this is more than a thank you.
It's appreciation for the weight you carry, often without recognition. It's acknowledgment for the care you give when no one is watching and the resilience it takes to do it again tomorrow. It's a voice standing beside you, not just in gratitude, but in advocacy for the change you deserve, the support you need, and the spaces where you can actually breathe.

During National Correctional Officers and Employees Week, we honor the strength and sacrifice of correctional professionals who face stress, trauma, and pressure every day behind the walls.

This week is a reminder that mental health matters too. Seeking support is not weakness — it’s strength. Thank you to all correctional staff for the work you do and the resilience you show every day.
