We are so very excited to welcome Dr. Brynn Babey to the Drs. Akre and Clark family!
Dr. Brynn Babey is originally from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada, where she grew up as a competitive figure skater and developed a deep appreciation for nature and the outdoors. She studied Microbiology and Immunology at the University of Saskatchewan prior to earning her Doctor of Optometry degree with honors from the Southern California College of Optometry.
During her time in California, Dr. Babey’s passion for clinical outreach took center stage. As President of SVOSH (Student Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity), she helped lead volunteer eye care initiatives across underserved communities in California, Mexico, Fiji, and Senegal, Africa. These experiences shaped her dedication to personalized eye care and fueled her interest in community impact.
Her clinical training included rotations at the Cornea and Contact Lens Institute of Minnesota, VA Southern Nevada, and private practice in Palm Springs, where she gained advanced experience in managing ocular disease, fitting specialty contact lenses for keratoconus and myopia control, and caring for pediatric patients with complex visual needs. She is a Student Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and has earned recognition from the AOA Cornea and Contact Lens Section.
Now excited to call New Ulm home, Dr. Babey looks forward to building strong, lasting relationships with her patients and providing compassionate, high-quality care to the community.
