We would like to take the time to congratulate our longtime friend and colleague, Peter Macho, on his retirement after more than 25 years of dedicated service with Minnesota Valley Funeral Homes.

Peter has been so much more than an employee — he’s been a trusted funeral professional, a compassionate presence for families in need, and a steady hand and voice behind the scenes. His service extended far beyond our doors, too. Peter has faithfully served the New Ulm community as a firefighter, volunteered his time in numerous civic roles, and, most importantly, has been a true friend to all.

We are deeply grateful for Peter’s years of commitment, integrity, and kindness. His presence will be missed, but his impact will be felt for many years to come.

Thank you, Peter, and congratulations on this next chapter!

There seems to be a local problem with Verizon phones calling our business line. If you need to get in touch with the funeral home this evening, calls must be made from a land line. Hopefully Verizon gets this problem fixed ASAP.

Honoring a Life of Service

Today we mourn the loss, but celebrate the life of Bruce Savoy. Bruce was devoted funeral director who brought comfort and care to so many. His kindness, guidance, and compassion will never be forgotten.

Though he is gone, his legacy lives on in the lives he touched. May he rest in peace.

It is with incredible sadness that we share the news of the passing of Bruce Savoy, a cornerstone of our funeral home family for an incredible 40 years. Bruce's unwavering dedication, gentle spirit, and compassionate heart touched the lives of countless families during their most difficult times. His presence was a source of comfort and strength, and his legacy of kindness will forever be remembered. We are deeply grateful for his years of service and the immeasurable impact he had on our community. He will be dearly missed.

Bruce Henry Savoy, age 75, died Monday, March 10, 2025, peacefully at his home surrounded by his caring and loving family who gave him strength at the end of his years. Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, March 22, 2025 at St. Johns Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Ulm.
